‘When Calls The Heart’s’ Pascale Hutton, Kavan Smith’s Baby Talk
Hearties who have been waiting for years for Rosemary and Leland to have a baby finally have their wish. They are going to be parents!
Now, Pascale Hutton and Kavan Smith are ready to discuss their hopes for this pregnancy, should When Calls The Heart be renewed for Season 10.

When Calls The Heart Stars Talk About Leland & Rosemary’s Baby
Kavan Smith and Pascale Hutton from When Calls The Heart recently spoke to ET’s Deidre Behar about the Coulter baby. This has been a long time coming for this storyline.
First, when they filmed the scene when Rosemary finally tells Lee that he is going to be a father, Kavan shared that everyone on set was laughing and joking between takes. And added, “It was really fun.”
But, that is just the beginning of the fun.

When Calls The Heart Stars Want To Have ‘Fun’
One of the things that the two When Calls The Heart stars look forward to is Rosemary’s pregnancy. Kavan admits that although he initially was not terribly excited about more children on set, due to the extra work, he admits that this new Coulter baby will be an opportunity to bring humor to the show.
I thought she and I could have so much fun even if it was just….him going out of his way to try and help her at all possible times. And, them annoying each other. And, the mood swings and then sympathetic mood swings. There’s the stuff is there’s so much gold.
Kavan then repeated how they felt a Rosemary pregnancy would be “gold.” “We’ve always said that a pregnancy storyline between these two is gold.”
Will There Be A Time Jump?
Deidre Behar asked Pascale Hutton whether there will be a time jump and Hearties will miss the pregnancy and there will just be a baby.
Pascale shared, “I really hope that we see a chunk of the pregnancy. Because, like Kavan said, there’s a lot of gold there, especially comedy-wise, with these two.”
Do When Calls The Heart Stars Want A Girl Or Boy Coulter?
One interesting question was whether or not the two stars would want a girl or boy. Both When Calls The Heart stars each have two sons in real life. Therefore, Kavan suggests going the opposite direction. “Interesting to throw a girl into the mix, and [have] a mini-Rosemary.”
Kavan also brought up another point. “How do you think they’re gonna manage running a newspaper, running a lumber mill, and also raising a new baby? It’s going to be chaos.” Then he added, “If anyone thrives in chaos, it’s Rosemary and Lee as a team. I think they’ll do well, but it will be hilarious.”
Couple Have ‘Mapped Out An Idea’
When asked by Deidre Behar about the birthing scene, Pascale shared her opinion about this upcoming When Calls The Heart special moment.
Kavan and I have talked about this actually. And, we’ve got some really strong ideas. but, we’ll see what ends up unfolding.
I mean, as much as I would love to say that it’s up to us, it’s a hundred percent not.
Then she added, “We have actually between the two of us kind of mapped out an idea of what we how we would love that to play out, and we’ll just see.”
Hearties, how would you like to see the birthing scene of baby Coulter?
It could make for some hilarious scenes having Rosemary being pregnant. Her flighty and perfectionist personality would make things interesting. If there is already a baby when the new season starts, the writers are cheating themselves out of an opportunity to have fun.
