Fans Accuse Janelle & Christine Brown Of Lying & Scamming

Sister Wives stars Janelle and Christine Brown are involved in an MLM called Plexus. And that’s rubbing many viewers the wrong way.

As per Investopedia, an MLM “refers to a strategy used by some direct sales companies to sell products and services. MLM encourages existing members to promote and sell their offerings to other individuals and bring on new recruits into the business. Distributors are paid a percentage of their recruits’ sales. New recruits become the distributor’s network or downline and are, in turn, encouraged to make sales to earn money. Many MLM schemes are legal but there are illegal operations that are run as pyramid schemes.”

In short, many fans believe that Christine and Janelle are using their fame and influence to get viewers to be part of the MLM. But are they really preying on their fanbase? Keep reading to see what Reddit users have to say.

Do Janelle and Christine Brown care that they’re participating in an MLM?

Without a doubt, TLC knows that Janelle and Christine Brown are involved with Plexus. Meri Brown participates in LuLaRoe, another MLM. But some Sister Wives viewers believe that the women might not know that MLMs can be very dangerous and don’t have great business models.

“Has anyone ever reached out to the sister wives about Plexus or Lularoe? Did you get a response?” the original Reddit poster wrote.

“I haven’t, I doubt they care though tbh,” replied another user. “It’s all about money for them. They don’t care that they are selling absolute bs and using their fame to exploit fans. It’s really gross actually.”

“Yep. I asked questions on a live that nobody answered (I’m a biologist so tbh I was a bit technically, but even basic questions re efficacy and FDA approval were ignored) then when I asked via DM they were interested until I said I was in New Zealand and they let the conversation drop pretty much immediately cos they couldn’t get any money out of me,” someone else added. “Absolutely about making money, it’s not really about investing time and effort into helping people reach their weight goals like they claim. As a side note: plexus – yuck. Predatory business model, no real biological basis for their claims.”

Don’t expect action from the sister wives any time soon

Even if Janelle and Christine Brown know that MLMs can be dangerous, they’re likely not going to speak up any time soon. Plexus recently paid for Janelle to take an all-expenses-paid trip to Portugal.

And of course, she made time to advertise Plexus products while she was supposed to be enjoying her vacation.
