Is Noah Thompson too “boring” to be a star?

American Idol fans continue to share their thoughts on the outcome of this season. On Monday, May 23, they tuned into Good Morning America to see his first-ever interview since winning the singing competition. It didn’t take long for them to slam Noah for his lack of excitement.

During his appearance on GMA, Noah Thompson talked about his shocking win. He said that he was still in a state of shock and adjusting to his newfound fame. Noah admitted to the judges that he thought he “wouldn’t even get a golden ticket.” He was just trying out the show so he would have a story to share with his one-year-old son, Walker.

Soon enough, Noah made it through the competition, week after week. Standing up there as part of the Top 3 “was amazing.” Noah sat next to HunterGirl on the GMA set. However, American Idol fans weren’t impressed with his interview.

Some think he’s too “boring” to be a famous singer. They slammed him for speaking too little and with a monotone voice. One fan noted that he would often say “yeah” or “um” often.

  • “Wow. That interview was painful. Yikes…”
  • “I dozed off halfway through…”
  • “Can this Noah dude even put together a complete sentence?”
  • “Neither of the top 2 seem to have anything interesting to say.”

Is he tired from his American Idol win?

It’s likely that Noah was exhausted from his big American Idol win. As TV Shows Ace previously reported, he was immediately whisked off the set to the airport in time for his GMA interview. Noah had to catch a red-eye from Los Angeles to New York City. He also had to do other phone interviews with the media during that time.

Noah probably had very little sleep, as a result. Becoming the next American Idol is both exciting and exhausting. However, some fans think that none of the top three contestants were “entertaining,” on or off the stage.

While Noah’s the official Season 20 winner, other fans accused the show of being “rigged.” Some of them think that HunterGirl should’ve won. There are also fans who are outraged that they lost their favorites early on in the season.
