‘Jeopardy!’ Contestant Subtly Shades Mayim Bialik

A Jeopardy! contestant subtly shaded Mayim Bialik. She shared some praise for Ken Jennings, who’s currently on hiatus. Earlier this month, Jennings announced on Twitter that he was taking a break from the show. He gave back the keys to Bialik, who has been holding down the fort.

Meanwhile, fans are mixed over which host they like the most. Some have demanded Jennings to come back. Meanwhile, others would like to see Bialik become a full-time host. Even the fans have taken to the comment section on TV Shows Ace to compare notes between the two show hosts.

Mayim Bialik is in talks to be the permanent host

Rumors have been swirling that Mayim Bialik is in talks to become the full-time host of Jeopardy! It’s now down to two: Ken Jennings and Bialik herself. Jennings received praise from a Jeopardy! contestant in a recent episode.

Lie-Mae McClellan from St. Louis, Missouri revealed that Jennings “inspired” her to go to law school. Bialik gets to know the Jeopardy! contestants before kicking off the game. She spoke to the young contestant who shared an interesting anecdote and some subtle shade.

“You had a career change a few years ago, and did it have something to do with Ken Jennings?” Bialik asked.

“It was at a time in my engineering career, I was a little disillusioned, maybe looking for an exit,” McClellan said. “And I just happened to read an article where Ken said he was so glad he got Jeopardy! because he wanted an exit from his career.”

She noticed that Jennings was “so desperate” to get out of his job as a software engineer. So, he “considered law school.” That’s when McClellan was also inspired to “go to law school.”

“And here we are!” Bialik said.

This awkward exchange happened as Jennings is on a long hiatus. He will return before the end of the season in July. Even though rumors are swirling that Bialik could become the new host, her sitcom Call Me Kat has been renewed for a third season. This would pose a challenge for her to film the quiz show.

  1. Ken Jennings is a wonderful host! And he has a wonderful history with Jeopardy. And Ken Jennings should be the permanent host of Jeopardy!

Mayim Bialik is so selfish. Isn’t it enough that she is primetime Jeopardy host, has a TV show, is a Director, has a podcast, etc. etc. etc. Why can’t she just politely bow out of the running for permanent host of Jeopardy and let Ken Jennings have his due? That’s the ego of an actress… Not a host! This whole situation has taken away from the beauty of the game of Jeopardy!

  2. I have loved Jeopardy from the beginning. I don’t watch it as much when Mayim I host. Her voice grates on my nerves, and she seems so fake!
I truly hope that she isn’t chosen as the permanent host, because I will not be watching much if she is.
Obviously, no one can replace Alex, but Ken should be the one, not Mayim!

  3. Been a Jeopardy viewer for many, many years. Do not like Mayim. she seems brassy and I guess, I can’t stand her So now – when she comes on-screen – my TV goes off!
