By now, most fans know that Dancing With The Stars will be on Disney+ this fall instead of ABC. It’s been a central part of fall ABC programming for over a decade, but that’s all going to change. Many fans aren’t excited about the switch, but pro dancer Alan Bersten is all for it.

Alan Bersten thinks the move to Disney+ will be good for ratings

Right now, there are a lot of factors that are still up in the air regarding Season 31. No one even knows if the existing cast of pro dancers will get to come back to the show. As it stands, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli will probably be back. That’s all anyone knows right now.

But it seems like pro dancer Alan Bersten hopes to be back in the fall. In fact, he’s really behind the big move to Disney+.

“Streaming is taking over the world and Disney is such an amazing platform. I don’t know much about numbers but they have surpassed 130 million subscribers in only two or three years!” Alan told HELLO! “I also think it will be amazing to be the first live show on a streaming platform, and our west coast fans will be able to vote for the first time when it actually matters. Before it was like, ‘just vote for me, trust me, we’ll be good,’ so it feels inclusive to everyone.”

However, pro dancers are usually the last ones to know whether or not they’ll get a chance to join the cast. It’s entirely possible that Alan just wants to keep his spot and is going with the flow to boost those chances.

And what about Tyra Banks?

Dancing With The Stars still hasn’t made an official announcement about Tyra Banks’ fate yet. But rumor has it that she’s been pushed out amid the network shuffle. Executive producer Andrew Llinares is gone — many believe Tyra will be the next exec on the chopping block.

The fashion icon just had a really tough time connecting with at-home viewers since her debut in Season 29. At the end of the day, viewers just really wanted to see Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews come back. They weren’t interested in having someone new.

Tom Bergeron has adamantly stated his DWTS days are done, but there could still be a new great host this coming season. There are still just so many unknowns at the moment.
