Are former American Pickers co-stars Frank Fritz and Mike Wolfe on speaking terms? This comes after Frank Fritz’s shocking firing from the show. In summer 2021, the History Channel announced that he was not coming back to the show. This came as Frank was recovering from his back surgery.
He took a break from the show in March 2020. Frank’s episodes at the time amassed over one million viewers. It was the highest ratings that the show had seen in years. Compare that now with the show’s new host, Robbie Wolfe. Earlier this year, ratings for Season 23 of American Pickers plummeted to under one million viewers.
Has Frank Fritz heard from Mike Wolfe?
American Pickers star Mike Wolfe “hasn’t reached out” to the fired host. According to a new report, the money and fame “changed” him. The History Channel fired the 58-year-old from the show in July 2021. They never revealed the reason for the firing.
At the time, the fan-favorite previously explained to The Sun that he and Mike were childhood friends who grew up together in Davenport, Iowa. However, they had a falling out long before his firing from American Pickers. Frank has been outspoken about his feud with Mike. He feels that the sudden fame “changed” his former friend.
An insider revealed to The Sun that Mike “hasn’t reached out” to Frank since his firing. The two are still not on speaking terms.
“Mike hasn’t reached out to Frank, he could care less. They both came from nothing. Money just changed Mike. It changed Frank too.”
The former American Pickers spoke to The Sun about their falling out. He admitted that Mike didn’t even reach out to him after his grueling back surgery. Frank also said that the show was titled towards Mike. That caused tension in their friendship.
“I haven’t talked to Mike in two years. He knew my back was messed up, but he didn’t call me up and ask how I was doing. That’s just how it is,” Frank said. “The show is tilted towards him 1,000 percent. I can’t even bend that far down to show you how much.”
American Pickers co-stars were like brothers
Mike was the first one to announce that Frank was fired from American Pickers. He took to Instagram to share a lengthy statement. Mike shared a photo of himself with Frank and their co-star Danielle Colby. He compared them to brothers and had nice things to say about Frank despite their feud.
“I have known Frank for as long as I can remember, he’s been like a brother to me. The journey that Frank, Dani, and I started back in 2009, like all of life, has come with its highs and lows, blessings and challenges, but it has also been the most rewarding,” Mike wrote. “The support that you have all given us has been a constant reminder of what the show’s message has always been; thru these places, people, and things we all have a common thread. We’re here to not only take care of the past but each other.”
Frank is hoping to make a comeback. He’s currently working on his own show. He’s in talks with a producer in Las Vegas. Are you surprised that Mike hasn’t spoken to Frank? Sound off below in the comment section.
