Queen Latifah inspires all ages as she becomes a CoverGirl for the second time. She is teaming up with the leading makeup brand once again. This comes 21 years after she first became the face of the company. On Monday, May 8, CoverGirl and Latifah shared they’re in a partnership again.

She was a CoverGirl for the very first time in 2001. Over 15 years, she marketed many of their now cult classics, such as the Cheekers Blush and Lash Blast Volume Mascara. The actress even teamed up with them to launch her Queen Collection which offered foundation with more options for dark skin tones.

Queen Latifah announces CoverGirl partnership

On Monday, People published the official photo of Queen Latifah’s partnership with CoverGirl. She wore a brown blouse, which she paired with black oversized hoop earrings. The Equalizer star had a big smile on her face. She perfected the no-makeup-makeup look, which consisted of a swipe of mascara, dark shadow, and nude lipgloss. “Here we go again,” Queen Latifah told People. “I’m excited to be back and to hit the ground running!”

She will also launch her “yet-to-be-announced” collection for CoverGirl. Latifah is very “excited” to work with the makeup brand again. In her press release, she said she will continue to bring “inclusivity to the forefront every step of the way, from product creation to ad development to product dissemination.”

It’s a big deal for the 52-year-old to be the face of a big-named beauty brand. Queen Latifah will be an inspiration for all women of all ages. She hopes that she will continue to inspire young black women to see themselves in the beauty industry. In her release, she also revealed her future plans.

“Growing up, I didn’t see anyone who looked like me in beauty ads, so I am grateful for this continued partnership with COVERGIRL to inspire the next generation of young black girls who will be raised seeing someone like them as the face of a major beauty brand.”

The Equalizer star is an inspiration to all

Queen Latifah has a lot to celebrate lately. Last week, she was honored at Variety’s Power of Women Ceremony presented by Lifetime. The event was held in honor of female empowerment. During her acceptance speech, Latifah said she will continue to support women in everything she does.

“I know what it looks like when women don’t get along. When we fight against each other,” Queen Latifah said on stage at the event. “But I also know what it looks like when we do. When we stand together, there’s nothing more potent.”
