Wrestlemania Backlash is just around the corner and WWE Smackdown delivered its go-home show. Charlotte Flair attempted to make a statement but Ronda Rousey was not having any of it. Sami Zayn took on Shinsuke Nakamura in a battle of possible title contenders. The New Day and Sheamus & Ridge Holland battled in a table match. The Bloodline and Drew McIntyre/RK-Bro faced off for the final time before their 6-Man Tag Match and it resulted in an implosion. Madcap Moss crashes Happy Talk
Ever since Wrestlemania and Happy Corbin’s defeat, the blame has been placed at the feet of Madcap Moss. With Moss no longer taking the abuse from Corbin, the two have been engaging in a war of words in recent weeks. Corbin held a Happy Corbin talk show segment and preceded to rip into Moss, predicting everything that he would do to him this Sunday night. During the rundown, Moss came to the ring and decided to mock his former friend, much to the amusement of the WWE Universe.
Wrestlemania Backlash Main Event Brawl
The main event is set for Wrestlemania Backlash. Drew McIntyre will team with Randy Orton and Riddle to face The Bloodline. Roman Reigns and The Usos have been the dominating force in the WWE for nearly two years, however, that hasn’t stopped many from trying to dethrone them. The Usos were set to battle RK-Bro in a Tag Team Title Unification match until Reigns and McIntyre got involved. A 6-man tag match was put in its place and all six men came face to face to close WWE Smackdown. In the closing moments of Friday Night Smackdown, McIntyre hit the Claymore on Reigns to end the show.
Women’s Title Preview
Charlotte and Rousey implode
WWE Smackdown kicked off with a match between Charlotte Flair and Aliyah. The WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion was set to make a statement to Ronda Rousey, however, that statement didn’t get to play out. Within moments, Rousey made her way to the ring as both women engaged in a heated brawl days before their I Quit Match at Wrestlemania Backlash.
