‘DWTS’: Peta Murgatroyd Announces Social Media Break
There’s been a lot of tragedy and heartbreak this year for Dancing With The Stars castmates. And unfortunately, Peta Murgatroyd is the latest member of the family to suffer some heartbreak.
The Season 22 champion announced that she’s taking a social media break for the moment. She just needs some time to deal with her feelings and seek privacy.

Peta Murgatroyd steps away from social media platforms
In times of great pain, many people opt to step away from social media to collect their feelings and regroup. And that’s exactly what Peta Murgatroyd is doing now.
Fans know that Peta has definitely been through a lot over the past few months. Her husband Maks Chmerkovskiy was trapped in Ukraine when the war broke out. The family worried over Maks for days, but he eventually made it back to the United States safely.
Peta is definitely thankful to have Maks home. But now, she has a new hurdle ahead of her.
“Hi guys,” the Australian dancer posted on her Instagram story. “I flew to Australia to be with my family. Sorry I’ve been MIA I just don’t have it in me to be on here right now. My dad isn’t doing the best so I just want to spend every minute with him. And of course my mother and brother. I’ll be back on here when I return to the states, but for now a much needed social media break is happening.”
Fans can continue to follow Peta on Instagram. However, they shouldn’t expect anything new from her while she gathers her feelings and focuses on her family.
What lies ahead for the Australian dancer?
Peta didn’t return to Dancing With The Stars last fall, but there’s always a chance she could come back this year. However, things are definitely going to be different in Season 31. The show is actually moving to Disney Plus for the upcoming season.
But it’s also possible that Peta will take a step back and continue focusing on her family. Last fall, she admitted that she did miss DWTS, but really enjoyed being a wife and mother too.
Before the Ukrainian war broke out, Peta enjoyed visiting her husband Maks as he worked on the set of the Ukrainian version of Dancing With The Stars. Peta and Maks are also the parents of a five-year-old son, Shai. In the past, Peta expressed interest in having another child. Some fans think she will sit out Season 31 if she chooses this route. But for now, fans will have to wait and see what happens next.
