What Is Hallmark’s Rip In Time About?

According to the Hallmark synopsis, there is a strange storm that blows through upstate New York. Small-time organic farmer Sarah (DeVitto) finds what her son Henry (Black) describes as a homeless man in her barn.

It turns out that this confused, disoriented, yet polite man is named Rip (Matter), and he is wearing 18th-century clothes. Like they did during the Revolutionary War.

Next, Sarah attempts to help Rip. He says was born in 1758, and he is not familiar with the modern tech of 2022. Moreover, Ted (Manderson), the local deputy, is unable to help Sarah figure out Rip’s identity. He is a mystery. There is absolutely no record of him anywhere.

Despite the lack of information on this stranger, Sarah realizes that Rip is a kind man. She even hires him to work as a farmhand. Meanwhile,  Sarah’s father and son quickly develop a friendship with the stranger. Yet, Ted doesn’t trust him and fears the stranger is trouble.

With Rip’s help, Sarah’s once struggling farm is now starting to flourish. As the two work together, they get closer and bond.

Sarah wants to further help Rip. She takes him to New York City to see a doctor. There, the doctors cannot disprove his story.

Finally, a quantum physicist admits Rip’s tale is theoretically possible and he may even be able to return to his own time.

Now, Rip is torn between a desire to go home and his newfound feelings for Sarah. Could the two out of time people find a path to happiness in the modern world?

Is That Niall Matter’s Real Beard?

Aurora Teagarden fans saw Niall Matter wear a very thick beard in the final movie of the series, Haunted By Murder. Turns out, he didn’t grow it out for the movie. There was an altogether other reason for looking like he was in disguise.

Candace Cameron Bure later explained the mystery of Niall Matter’s beard. Turns out, a few days before they began shooting the mystery, Niall had an unfortunate accident in his garage. He hurt his face, particularly around his mouth area.

There was no time to heal his injury. Therefore, he decided to cover it up. Moreover, he appears to have super-fast growing facial hair. He had a full beard that fooled even the most ardent fans. People did not even recognize him!

However, we don’t know if he grew his Rip Van Winkle Jr. beard himself. While it seems possible, based on the Aurora story, it is likely to be a hairpiece.

Hopefully, Hallmark will share a video.

Don’t miss the premiere of Rip In Time on Sunday, May 22, at 9 p.m., Eastern, on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
