New, Original ‘Dateline’ Series Heads For Peacock: Release Date

What Is The New ‘Dateline’ Series About?
Peacock announced the release date of its first official Dateline series. The series, Dateline: The Last Day, focuses on each murder victim’s last 24 hours. Viewers will be taken through the last day, last hours, of each victim.
The detectives in the show retrace their steps and try to search for new clues to solve the case. Oftentimes, the last 24 hours before a victim loses their life are the most informative when it comes to solving the crime. While the type of story being told may look slightly different, the series will continue to have the signature Dateline style reporting.

“When it comes to crime, Dateline has been telling those stories and captivating viewers longer than anyone else,” Rod Aissa, an NBC executive, said about the show. Now, Aissa said, the streaming service Peacock is thrilled to have the first original Dateline series debut this year. The producers are excited to bring new investigations to the forefront for true crime fans.
Right now, that is all that has been revealed about the show’s topic. No details about the cases covered have been leaked yet.
When Is The ‘Dateline: The Last Day’ Release Date On Peacock?
Dateline: The Last Day is scheduled to premiere on Peacock on June 14. Right now, there are eight episodes planned for the first season. If it is anything as popular as the initial series, fans can expect plenty of future installments.
The stories featured on the new Dateline series have not been featured in the original series before. However, fans can still expect to see the beloved Keith Morrison. Other familiar NBC correspondents will be featured as well, including Andrea Canning, Josh Mankiewicz, and Stephanie Gosk.

David Corvo, senior executive producer, and Liz Cole, executive producer, are both working on The Last Day as well. So, many of the same faces will be working to bring their fans new true crime stories on Peacock.
Last year, Dateline celebrated a huge milestone: 30 years on the air. Dateline has been captivating viewers longer than any other true crime program in existence. It has produced some rather loyal fans along the way.
