’90 Day Fiance’ Star Cheats Death At Hands of Boyfriend?
A former 90 Day Fiance alum is feeling extra grateful today. They had a brush with death over the weekend and are lucky to be alive. Originally featured on the spinoff Happily Ever After, they played a pivotal role in the career of Paola Mayfield. Now, blessings are being counted as it could have taken a very deadly turn.
90 Day Fiance Introduction
Viewers first met Paolo during Season 1 of the hit TLC reality series. She was originally from Colombia and that was where she met Russ Mayfield. He was an engineer from Oklahoma who happened to be working in Colombia. The two met and fell fast and furious. She soon moved to the states to be with Russ and they were married in 2013. However, the love bubble burst quickly. He ended up losing his job which was a big blow to both of them. Yet Paola had big dreams of her own. She was determined to get into modeling and fitness but knew she needed to relocate. This meant leaving Oklahoma for Miami which she did on her own.
Russ struggled with staying behind and eventually met her in Miami. More so, he continued to have issues with some of the outfits she wore in her modeling shoots. She had a modeling agent named Caroline Schwitzky at some point who was featured during the couple’s time on Happily Ever After? It documented their struggles to find a positive path. The two broke up and made up, attempting to find out what worked for them. They also welcomed their first child, Axel in January 2019 and seem to still want to work on their marriage. Now their past has come back to haunt them in the worst way.
A Tragedy Strikes
Fans of Happily Ever After? may recall seeing Paola and Russ meeting with the modeling agent, Caroline Schwitzky. She was the one who encouraged Pao to relocate to Miami. It also appeared that she was extremely busy and Russ began to question her dedication to his wife. She seemed to have a lot on her plate but was missing the mark where they really missed her. This was clearly years ago so no word on where Caroline and Pao stand. A quick search shows Caroline follows her “former” client on Instagram but the feeling is not reciprocated. Fast forward to this past weekend.
According to TMZ, Caroline almost died at the hands of her boyfriend. Witnesses alleged that he attempted to drown and strangle her on Sunday per law enforcement. Apparently, Caroline and Cole Goldberg, who she has been with for a year, got into an argument while on a boat. When she tried to escape him, he held on and a struggle ensued. She jumped into the water to get away but Cole followed her and that’s when it went from bad to worse.
He has since been arrested for first-degree murder and battery. The twenty-three-year-old was released on a 60K bond. No word if Paola has reached out to her former agent to check-in. Luckily onlookers did attempt to help and hopefully, she gets the treatment she needs to heal.
