Aspyn Brown Once Called Kody On Favoritism Toward Robyn
Aspyn Brown has kept a relatively low profile when it comes to the familial series Sister Wives. Though she grew up on the show, she has only been casually featured in recent seasons. Yet, something she said about her dad in the early seasons proves she had his number all along.
Aspyn Brown, The Responsible One
Christine Brown was Kody’s third wife and when the show was introduced, she was expecting her sixth child. The one thing about her was that she was incredibly nurturing. She was the one who took homemaking to the next level, raising both her and second wife Janelle’s children. Janelle preferred to work and be outside of the home but was perfectly content to have her sister wife pick up the slack. They had a good balance living in the single-family home and this carried them over to Las Vegas. That was where they both decided to get their real estate licenses together. At the same time, Kody had courted and married a fourth wife, Robyn. Along with her, she brought three kids into the family from her previous marriage.
The one thing about being a plural family is they were always there for one another. As the kids got older, they were able to help out, especially when the wives went away on occasional trips. Unlike in Utah, each wife had their own home. In Christine’s house, that responsibility fell onto Aspyn as she was the oldest. She went through a lot including Truely’s health crisis. When Truely was admitted to the hospital upon Christine’s return, Kody was sleeping at Robyn’s. Luckily, the toddler made it despite her older sister feeling guilty. Aspyn ended up seeing a side of her father in these early years that would take her mother years to finally fully realize.
Playing Favorites
Kody should not be playing favorites as he should love all four of his wives equally. Yet as his daughter Aspyn Brown realized early in the series, his fourth wife Robyn always had the title. A Redditor posted a clip from Season 3 where Christine mentions Kody is busy catering to Robyn and building their relationship. He is not granting equal time to each wife and Aspyn goes on to add that she has not seen her dad in days. A thread was immediately started over this clip: “Robyn is proof Kody isn’t a polygamist.” Another added: “I have been re watching the show and it is clear as day the reason his relationships have fell off with the other wives. It’s sickening to see how much better he treats Robin and her kids than his own.”
In Season 16, Christine noted that her daughters Ysabel, Gwendlyn, and Truely saw Kody paying more attention to Robyn and her kids. That favoritism was hard for them to swallow thus they lacked respect for him. It made it easier for her to leave him after that among other issues they had been having for years. At this point, it just shows how Kody and Robyn were not even cognizant or caring of what they were doing to the kids and the family. It also shows how aware Aspyn was of her father not being present which could explain why she chose to not come around during the pandemic. She and her husband were the ones to host Thanksgiving 2020 which is where Christine and co. went instead.

If Kody had neglected Truely when she was sick to be with Robyn, I’m not surprised Christine has harboured so much resentment towards him. He is a thoroughly selfish individual and I hope he gets his comeuppance.
Imo kody uses the polygamy religion as an excuse to have more than 1 woman. I don’t think kody is a nice person at all. I think Meri, Janelle and Christine are 3 lovely caring woman and will quite easily manage without hhim.He doesn’t deserve these lovely ladies or his beautiful children as he is no role model to anyone. Robin will be replaced one day too and serve her right. She has no moral compass.
It wouldn’t have done Aspyn any good to call her father out when she was younger because he’s such a bully and so disconnected to his other wives and kids that he would have totally hurt her and would justify his horrible behavior. I still can’t believe that TLC still had this show going on. Robyn is such a narcissist and manipulator and leads Kody around by the nose. For the life of me I can’t understand why Meri and Janelle stay and accept being treated this way. Siswives is a show that needs to be cancelled.
