US Weekly shared details about what Maurissa had to say about her split from Riley Christian. It’s taken her a lot of time to reach a point where she feels healed enough to discuss what happened.

Maurissa shared that their relationship was in fact long over before the world knew about it. She reminded fans that she often broke down while on the beach thinking Riley wasn’t into her. She has always somewhat felt in her gut that she loved him more.

Maurissa said from day one she was all in. However, their issues somewhat began when she still believed he wasn’t as into her as she was into him. Those feelings she had followed her off the beach and into their reality.

She said, “I get upset with myself. [I think to myself], you knew it right then and there, but you were just trying to like work through the circumstances and thinking like, ‘Oh, you’re being a little nuts, like, he’s so into you,’ especially when you see it on TV. Like he’s not into anyone else doing anything, you know? And for me, the feelings still carried over throughout our whole relationship.”

Shady remarks?

It was brought up to Maurissa about a tweet she shared that seemed to throw shade at Riley. The tweet said, “I’m not an inherently messy person, but when I see things in real time and then see someone skew that perception for social media it’s very scary. [It’s] not okay by any means to be the catalyst of your own demise and then go onto socials and ask for the publics sympathy. There are always two sides to a story.”

Maurissa was called out for the tweet and asked if she meant to be shady. She says no that she was not being shady in any way.

She then went on to indicate that sometimes people are different on the show than they truly are off-camera. Maurissa said, “Being in the circumstances we were in, it became reality, like, coming off of the show, and sometimes who you meet on the show is not who they are after the show. … I’m not trying to shade in any way. Our whole relationship was legit, of course. I loved him from the bottom of my heart, I’m sure he loved me back. It just didn’t work out. There’s no shade.”

Basically, Maurissa thinks those on BIP should be sure they are truly compatible. She said it’s important to know how you want to raise kids and where you want to live. She went all-in for love and still finds herself questioning it all at times.

After moving briefly to New York, Maurissa is living back in Atlanta.
