The Truth About Jill Dillard’s Estrangement From Mom & Dad
Jill Dillard appears to be estranged from her mom and dad, Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar. Over the years, the Duggar daughter has talked about her relationship with her family. However, she hasn’t shared too many specifics publicly.
Fans might recall hearing that Jill and her husband, Derick Dillard, had to get legal help in order to recover some of the money they weren’t paid for their time on Counting On. The couple claims they weren’t paid what they should have been, despite filming many intimate moments of their lives on the show.
Jill Dillard has also shared about setting boundaries with her parents. She said they aren’t invited to every event.
Recently, fans raised more questions about the estrangement between Jill and her parents. When Jill announced her pregnancy in February, the Duggar family Instagram page didn’t repost her photos or congratulate her. Jim Bob and Michelle typically announce weddings, births, pregnancies, and more on their Instagram profile.
But it looks like they completely ignored Jill and Derick’s big news. So, what else is going on with the Duggar daughter and her parents?

A former friend of the Duggars is spilling the tea on the family. On Reddit, the former friend shared a post and offered to answer questions about the family.
Questions about Jill Dillard’s relationship with her parents came up, so the friend shared more information about the estrangement.
One Duggar snarker asked, “Is Jill actually estranged from the family? We speculate on that here but she does attend the weddings and stuff.”
In response, the friend said, “I’d say Derick is more estranged than anything. Jill seems pretty okayish with everyone.”
So, things may not be so bad between Jill and her parents. It sounds like it has more to do with Derick than anything.
But maybe Jim Bob and Michelle’s estrangement from Derick has affected Jill in some ways, too.
We’ll have to wait and see what happens over time to find out if their relationship ever improves. We may find out more when Jill and Derick’s baby arrives in July. Maybe Jim Bob and Michelle will finally acknowledge the newest baby on the way.
