Kody Brown Hoped Christine Would Move Past No Intimacy Like Meri?
Kody Brown officially broke Christine’s heart when he revealed the intimate part of their marriage was over. He felt they could still be married even without the romance. This was not something she wanted to subscribe to. Yet, he already had one wife who seemed fine living like this. Did Kody secretly hope Christine would be okay just having an intimacy-free marriage just to keep her family intact?

It was clear that Kody and his third wife, Christine had struggled for some time. He had openly admitted he was not attracted to her when they first met. It was all over a nacho incident when he looked over and did not like the way she ate. Yet, he did admit he was attracted to her fun-loving nature. More so, he liked the way she broke the tension between his first two wives and was always saying yes to him. She was a breath of fresh air. However, after a certain point, she ran herself ragged doing everything for everyone but herself and had to start saying no for her sanity. Eventually, she started to work and, at times, questioned polygamy. It was just a lot of work and she needed Kody to comfort her rather than make her feel down.
He was seen calling her a crybaby and was eventually frustrated that she would tell people she was leaving him but never talked to him. It was difficult to talk to him when she felt he pacified her. She wanted to move back to Utah when polygamy was decriminalized. He agreed but only to keep her calm. There was never any intention of actually going back there and it was the last straw for Christine. During the pandemic, they became even more distant with his constant scrutinization and always living with Robyn. Finally, they had a talk and he said he no longer wanted to be intimate with her. That was when she packed up his stuff and threw him out.
Just Like Meri And Janelle?
Kody Brown insinuated that she had to prove herself for that level of their marriage to return. Yet, he did not have an intimate marriage with Meri. It had been a decade since they had been physical yet she had no intentions of leaving. In the tell-all, he even admitted he was not in love with Janelle and vice versa. Did he think he could keep Christine around in the same capacity? In his mind, it seemed he believed that she would love him so much that she would just stick around. A Reddit thread has been started about this whole situation and there are a lot of valid opinions.
One Redditor addressed Kody along with Robyn saying his and Christine’s marriage was a waste: “Both he and Robyn have been really cruel to Christine. He, for removing intimacy and expecting her to live with it. Robyn for victim blaming Christine.” Another added: “And the AUDACITY!!! Of him being confused why she would want a marriage with someone who doesn’t want to be intimate with her and doesn’t find her attractive!!! Oh well people do it all the time you need to be a better sister wife…the man is CRUEL!!” When asked about Meri and Kody’s marriage, Christine specifically said that she did not want what they had. She wants a marriage with love and intimacy and who can blame her for that?
