Might Jim Bob Duggar’s rules have all been an act for his family’s TLC show, Counting On? Fans have noticed that since the show was canceled in 2021, the family seems to be dropping many of their strict guidelines, from modesty standards to courtship rules. Jim Bob Duggar’s rules gone after Counting On cancelation?
On the Duggar Bates Confessions Instagram page, fans are discussing the lack of rules in Hannah Wissmann and Jeremiah Duggar’s courtship. The two are husband and wife now. But before this, they appeared to be breaking the courtship rules.
In one clip, it looks like they are snuggling in bed (above the sheets). Another video reveals a front hug. Jeremiah doing these things isn’t a big deal by society’s standards. The point is that he appears to be breaking the Duggar family’s strict rules.
In the comments section of the post, one fan says, “There is no show to keep up the pretense of ‘they choose their own dating rules’ so they could front hug and have no chaperones and the sky didn’t fall in!!”
Many other fans “liked” the comment, seemingly agreeing with this prediction. Maybe Jim Bob Duggar stopped caring about these rules because of the show.
Fans have also noticed that more of the Duggar women seem to be wearing pants, rather than skirts or dresses. Jana Duggar, who is 32 years old and lives at home with her parents and siblings, began wearing pants for the first time right around the time that the show was canceled.
Is there another possible explanation for this change?
Online, fans have speculated that Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar might have eased up on some of the rules after Josh’s arrest and the guilty verdict. Some fans think that Jim Bob and Michelle might have decided that wearing pants pales in comparison to Josh’s child pornography crimes.
Of course, fans don’t really know the full story or what’s happened behind the scenes at the Duggar family’s home. And we may not ever know the real reason that things have seemingly changed.
