The X-Factor star is doing much better these days. Simon Cowell is still riding around, even if his front tooth falls out. However, it’s nothing like the horrific e-bike crash from two years ago. He had to undergo six hours of spine-saving surgery.

Simon Cowell may never have walked again. He broke his back and nearly lost his life in 2020. Two months ago, he walked away from another crash with just a broken arm. He still refuses to wear a helmet to this day.

The 62-year-old acts like it’s no big deal. However, the accident has him changing his perspective on life. The longtime bachelor is ready to settle down. He proposed to his long-term girlfriend Lauren Silverman. The couple shares an eight-year-old son Eric.

Simon Cowell was in a series of long-term relationships. Some would say that the Brit has a type when it comes to his girlfriends. All of them are tall, beautiful, and brilliant brunettes. Simon Cowell spoke to The Sun about his proposal. Both Simon and Lauren sat on the grounds of their Malibu mansion. He admitted that he got tired of living the single life. Simon also fears for his son’s well-being since he has a famous father with a reputation.

“I’ve kind of felt myself engaged for a long time, if I’m really being honest with you,” Simon Cowell said in an exclusive interview with The Sun. “Lockdown and COVID was probably make or break with many relationships. We were in the same house for over a year and I thought, ‘Well, actually, we get on really, really well.’ And for Eric, as he gets older, he will be asked more and more about his parents, and I thought it was the right thing to do for him.”

The music producer says he can’t “see myself ever dating again.” Dating at his age isn’t the same. Simon recalled his parents’ marriage and he wants something like that for himself. The famous unmarried man has had a “harem” of similar-looking ex-girlfriends and has never been married.

Simon Cowell once called marriage an “outdated and shackling institution.” That all changed when he met Lauren and they welcomed Eric. Simon’s life changed ever since his accident and the pandemic. But he admits that he’s “not a romantic” and he didn’t “get down on one knee” when it happened.
