Raven Gates Gottschalk asks for prayers

Raven Gates Gottschalk went to Facebook several times over the past week to ask followers to pray for her brother’s family, especially her nephew. Her nephew, Brentley, is suffering from Leukemia. He is 9 and will be turning 10 later this month on April 25. The family requested birthday and get-well cards to cheer him up.

Brentley is currently at St. Jude Research Hospital receiving chemo treatments. He started losing his hair and understandably not handling it very well. On top of that, he is having a reaction to the chemo and is itching uncontrollably. Plus, he’s running a fever.

Raven’s brother Weston, shared today that Brentley is covered from head to toe with the rash. The doctor does not believe it will get any worse and will not cause him any respiratory distress. They will give him steroids before his next chemo treatment to see if the treatment will help. He also noted the doctor said Brentley’s numbers look great which is encouraging.

Brentley has had a rough week and Raven and her family are asking for prayers for healing. In one post she said, “Please continue to remember my brother, his wife, and kids in your prayers! Especially Brentley!!”

She also shared details about a fundraiser to help her brother’s family. Her sister-in-law had to quit her job to stay with Brentley at the hospital. So, they are relying on only one income to support them which includes four children.

As for Raven and Adam, they are enjoying being parents to their son Gates. Their son, Gates Zev Gottschalk, was born on January 18 via C-section after Raven was unable to deliver naturally.

Adam explained how they came up with his name by saying, “Gates was a name we picked out randomly one night while on a date and it stuck so well.” He continued, “It is also tribute to Raven’s maiden name. Zev is a name of Hebrew origin which means Wolf — also my great-grandfather’s name. We’re getting ready for 2045 NFL draft already.”

Everyone at Tvshowsace is sending prayers and positive thoughts to Brentley and his family as they continue his courageous battle with leukemia.
