‘American Idol’ Fans Revolt Against Judges For Latest Elimination

American Idol fans are revolting against judges for the latest elimination that took place on Sunday, April 3. They think the judges made a big mistake. Most of them took to social media to share their thoughts. Some of them wish they could save Cole Hollman or bring him back as a wildcard.

His elimination may be the most shocking yet. The 22-year-old had two performances on Season 20 of American Idol, but it wasn’t enough to keep him around. Yet, Hollman quickly built up a fanbase early on. They fell in love with him when he gave a soulful performance with his little sister Katie during the open auditions.

American Idol Season 20 — Cole Hollman eliminated

Hollman continued to prove himself with each performance. He wasn’t just another guy with a guitar. He was full of raw emotion and vulnerability in his voice. But that wasn’t enough to keep him around in the duet round during  Hollywood Week.

Hollman was paired with Cadence Baker. The two performed their rendition of “How Sweet It Is” by James Taylor. Both of the singers sounded beautiful in the song. Judge Luke Bryan asked Hollman if his voice was “gone a little bit.”

The aspiring singer admitted he lost his voice and struggled to sing. The judges could tell that his voice was shot. Hollman’s voice went up against him. Ultimately, the judges chose Baker to remain in the competition and send Hollman home.

Some American Idol fans were happy to learn that Baker made it through the rounds. But most were upset that Hollman’s time came to an end. Not only did he struggle with his voice, but he also struggled with his confidence. Hollman had too much going up against him as the pressures increased.

American Idol fans upset over Hollman’s elimination

American Idol fans took to social media to share their upset. Fans were upset with the judges’ decision to send Hollman home. Most of them think the judges should’ve been more empathetic to Hollman’s situation. They stormed Twitter to rebel against the AI judges.

• “WTH AMERICAN IDOL!!! By turning Cole down, you lost me for the night. IT WAS UNDERWHELMING BECAUSE HIS VOICE WAS HALFWAY GONE!!!!”
• “Nooooo! Cole is much better than others who made it thru! Judges mistake.”
• “Cole was better than half the people that went through.”
• “Currently filing a lawsuit against the American Idol judges for cutting Cole Hallman [sic].”

American Idol fans also spoke out on the official YouTube channel. One called out the singing competition for letting through “mediocre contestants.” Another fan hopes Hollman will return for another chance at stardom.
