Duggar & Bates Courtship Coming Soon? Fans Think So
Duggar and Bates fans think there could be a courtship between the two families very soon. A recent interaction between both families has fans wondering if there’s already a courtship in the works or if there will be one in the near future. They have been friends for years and appear to be close to each other.

Has there been a Duggar & Bates courtship before?
At this point, there hasn’t officially been a courtship between the two families. There have been rumors that some of them have been together before, but nothing has been confirmed. For one, fans thought that Jana Duggar was dating Lawson Bates. This never amounted to anything, however.
It’s worth noting that the two families are similar in some ways. They are both members of the IBLP (Institute of Basic Life Principles) and they both have 19 children. They raise their kids in similar ways and share many of the same beliefs. So, it wouldn’t come as much of a surprise if they ended up together.
Fans think a courtship might be in the works.
In a new anonymous confession on the Duggar Bates Confessions Instagram page, one fan shares their thoughts on a potential courtship between the two families. The fan thinks there’s a chance that Johannah Duggar will end up courting Jackson Bates.
The fan writes, “They’re both still quite young and I feel like we barely know anything about Johannah but I could kind of see it.”
Johannah is 16 years old and Jackson is 20. So, there’s a little bit of an age gap there.
Another fan agrees in the comments, writing, “Me too! I can see that match with her over Carver Bowers.” Johannah was previously linked to Bowers, but that has since fizzled out.
Someone else says, “I think they would make a great couple . But at the same time I think don’t they would ever date . But who knows.”
Other fans, however, think that the Bates family might not want to associate with the Duggars anymore, especially after Josh’s arrest and conviction. This might bring the Bates family some unnecessary drama and negative attention.
We’ll have to wait and see what happens between these two families. A courtship could still be a possibility, but Josh’s past may affect things going forward.
