The When Calls The Heart Season 9, Episode 4 Sneak Peek for “Straight From The Heart” shares a scene between Nathan (Kevin McGarry) and Mei Sou (Amanda Wong).
Sitting at his desk at the jail, with his arm still in a sling, the Mountie is still sporting a mustache. Mei Sou comes inside.
Here is the conversation.
Mei: “Ollie ollie oxen-free.”
Nathan: “I don’t think that’s how jail works.”
Mei Sou walks around, “I’ve never seen the inside of a jail before. It’s kind of depressing.
Nathan: “That’s how jail works.”
Mei, staring at the jail cell says: “Makes you think twice about doing something to wind up here
Nathan: “So, then why are you here?”
Mei: I thought I would work with Newton before opening the pharmacy. Care to join me?
Nathan: The other day, you wanted to work with Newton alone. What’s changed?
Mei: “I realized I can hit two birds with one stone by teaching you and Newt.
Nathan takes a deep breath and says, “Sounds good.”
Mei nods, “All right then.”
The scene was important in possibly moving their relationship forward. However, the way that Mei looks at the jail cell, as she talks about thinking “twice” before committing a crime, may make Hearties wonder even more about her secret.
Did Mei Sou do something very bad? Could she wind up in jail?

As Lucas cares for Little Jack and takes him around Hope Valley, Elizabeth starts to see a different side of her new beau. How do the guys get along? There promise to be some super-cute moments between Little Jack and Lucas!
