Could Jim Bob Duggar actually be president someday?
The Duggar/Bates Confessions Instagram page recently had quite an interesting post. The page revealed someone told them they believed Jim Bob Duggar had major political aspirations. This isn’t that shocking, considering Jim Bob’s lengthy interest in politics. However, the anonymous source also revealed they thought Michelle would make a great first lady.
And naturally, the page’s followers had a lot of varying opinions. But largely, the users felt that the Duggars really have no place in the White House.
“She couldn’t even protect her own daughters? How is she going to care about the public?” pointed out one Instagram user.
“Sorry but no,” said someone else. “If he was elected he would decriminalize CP to get his son out of jail. How can you want someone who failed to protect his own daughters??”
In general, it seems like the fans determined Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle should never be in the White House. The Josh Duggar scandal seems to have completely turned off a large chunk of their remaining supporters.
The Duggar family’s unrealistic expectations for their children
The Duggar family grew to be unpopular for a wide variety of reasons over the years. But recently, a lot of the family’s critics believe that Jim Bob puts a lot of pressure on his kids to reproduce. Reddit users took a deep dive here and started to dissect the situation.The original poster asks whether or not Jim Bob and Michelle ever directly instruct their children to have children of their own.
“I’m sure they aren’t outright about it,” suggests another user. “It’s probably more like ‘Oh I’d love a new little grandbaby!’ or ‘So when is a little one coming?’ or ‘Is little Fern gonna be a big sister anytime soon?’”
The Duggar daughters were also raised to be “joyfully available” whenever their husband wishes them to be, which the Reddit users also noted as problematic. In a nutshell, Jim Bob and Michelle probably do put a lot of pressure on their children to keep getting pregnant.
