‘Bachelorette’: Will Gabby & Rachel’s Season Differ From Kaitlyn & Britt’s?
Bachelorette fans are wondering how Gabby and Rachel’s season will differ from Kaitlyn and Britt’s. Get all the details.
Bachelor Nation fans concerned network will pit Gabby vs. Rachel
As longtime Bachelorette viewers know, having two women as leads has been done before. During Season 11, Kaitlyn Bristowe and Britt Nilsson were originally named as leads.
However, the contestants took a vote during the first episode to choose who should stay as the lead – Kaitlyn or Britt. Kaitlyn overwhelmingly won the vote and went on to get engaged to Shawn Booth.
The pair stayed together for three years before ultimately calling off their engagement. Bristowe is now engaged to Season 14 alum Jason Tartick.
After the surprising announcement on March 15 that Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia will both be Bachelorette for Season 19, fans had concerns.
Would the male contestants once again choose between Gabby and Rachel for one solo lead? Would they compete for the same men? After all, both were pursuing Clayton Echard on Season 26 of The Bachelor.
Echard ultimately sent both women home and reunited with eliminated contestant Susie Evans.
How season will differ from previous dual Bachelorette season
While the network has yet to reveal how exactly it will work, Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss weighed in on the concerns. He replied to a tweet speculating there’s “no way” Gabby and Rachel won’t be pitted against each other.
He replied, “Not true” and encouraged fans to “wait and see” how it will work.

He followed his tweet up with the “major” update that Susie Evans and Clayton Echard are still together.
What else do we know about Season 19?
By the end of Season 26, Gabby and Rachel had become fast friends. Screen Rant notes that the duo will likely continue to support one another during their joint season.
ABC clearly hasn’t ironed out all the details about Season 19. Fans expect the network to release information about the suitors in the coming days following the bombshell announcement.
During the ATFR, Jesse Palmer did confirm that he will host the next season of Bachelorette. He will replace Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe, who hosted Seasons 17 and 18 following Chris Harrison’s shocking exit from the franchise.
It seems that Palmer is taking over as permanent host of both The Bachelor and its several spinoffs. It’s likely that he will also host this summer’s Bachelor in Paradise, though the network has yet to confirm Season 8.
