Former Counting On stars Jill and Derick Dillard recently revealed that they have been diagnosed with COVID. They shared the news on social media after Derick’s low-key birthday celebration. The couple has now shared more details about the situation and are thankful that they didn’t catch COVID earlier when Jill was still in the first trimester of her pregnancy.

In an Instagram post last week, Jill shared a photo of herself and Derick sick in bed and wrote, “Derick & I tested + for covid for the first time and it’s not fun!”

Then, the Duggar daughter requested prayers, saying, “Prayers appreciated for quick recoveries and for baby to stay healthy too!”

Fans are especially concerned about Jill being pregnant and having COVID. Prior to getting pregnant with this baby, she had a miscarriage. So, she seems to be anxious about the baby, too. Amid the scariness of COVID while pregnant, Jill and Derick Dillard have found one positive about the timing of their positive tests.

Jill & Derick Dillard are relieved they didn’t catch COVID sooner.

In an exclusive interview with TMZJill and Derick Dillard shared more about their COVID diagnosis and how they’re feeling. The couple also shared with fans that they are happy that they didn’t catch COVID any earlier. Now, Jill is in the second trimester. If she had gotten sick during her first trimester, she would have had to deal with COVID and morning sickness simultaneously.

TMZ notes that the Dillards said she had a lot of morning sickness. So, this would have been a lot for her to handle, and she would’ve been miserable.

Of course, having COVID right now isn’t any fun for the Duggar couple. But they are feeling fortunate that it happened now rather than earlier.

So far, it doesn’t sound like Jill and Derick have any serious complications. Hopefully, Jill, Derick, and the baby all continue to do well and fully recover. It sounds like the couple is working closely with Jill’s doctor to keep an eye on the baby’s vitals, while she takes baby aspirin to prevent blood clots and complications.

So, are you glad to hear that Jill Dillard doesn’t have to deal with morning sickness and COVID at the same time? Share your thoughts in the comments section below. And come back to TV Shows Ace for more Duggar family news. We’ll continue to keep you updated on Jill and Derick Dillard.
