Jill & Derick Dillard Fear For Unborn Baby Amid COVID Diagnosis
Former Counting On stars Jill and Derick Dillard have tested positive for COVID amid her pregnancy. Just weeks before catching COVID, Jill and Derick announced that they are expecting a baby. Now, they are worried about their unborn baby amid their diagnosis.
The Duggar couple took to social media on February 27 to share the exciting news that they are expecting their rainbow baby, a baby born after a loss. Last fall, Jill opened up about her miscarriage. So, she is very thankful to be pregnant again, and everything appears to be going smoothly with her and the baby.
However, the pair’s recent COVID diagnosis has them pretty worried about their baby’s health. When sharing about their COVID diagnosis, the couple asked for prayers for themselves and “for baby to stay healthy too!”

In an exclusive interview with TMZ, Jill and Derick shared that they are pretty concerned about their little one on the way. TMZ reports, “They are both concerned about Jill battling the virus while she’s expecting, in part because of all the unknowns and shifting science.”
The outlet also reports, “The main health concerns for pregnant women like Jill are being more susceptible to developing blood clots and potentially not providing enough oxygen to the baby.”
Jill and Derick are working with her doctor to take all of the proper precautions to keep the unborn baby safe. Jill is taking baby aspirin to prevent blood clots, which is a concern for pregnant people with COVID. The baby could potentially lose oxygen as well. Jill is also monitoring her baby’s heartbeat and keeping track of how often the baby is kicking each day. By doing this, she can quickly notice any sudden changes and seek medical attention if she’s worried about the baby.
Fortunately, it sounds like Jill and Derick are doing everything right when it comes to pregnancy and COVID. Hopefully, they continue to have a mild case of COVID and can push through without any major complications. The couple will likely share more updates soon because fans are worried and praying.
