Derick Dillard Celebrates Birthday With COVID & Pregnant Wife At Home
Derick Dillard’s birthday wasn’t quite what he had planned this year. Unfortunately, the Duggar son-in-law and his wife, Jill Dillard, have COVID. So, he had to spend his birthday at home. His 33rd birthday was on Wednesday, March 9.
Thanks to social media, fans got a little peek into Derick’s birthday celebration amid their positive COVID tests. Read on to see how they celebrated despite the bad news.
On Thursday, March 10, Jill hopped on social media to share the news that she and her husband have tested positive for COVID. Fans are especially concerned by this news because Jill is pregnant. In response to her post, fans are sending prayers and words of encouragement her way. They hope Jill, Derick, and the baby are all okay. Jill disclosed to fans that she and Derick are both vaccinated, though they didn’t get their booster shots.

On Jill’s Instagram page on Wednesday, she wished her husband a happy birthday. She kept the birthday message short and sweet, writing, “Happy birthday to my favorite person @derickdillard ILYSM babe! Thanks for being my rock and encourager! Hope this next year is your best yet!”
Then, in her post about the COVID tests coming back positive, Jill revealed more details about how they were able to pull off his birthday. She wrote, “With a little help from family, we were still able to celebrate Derick’s birthday at home yesterday, even though it was different than we’d originally hoped.”
Jill also posted a picture of her husband with his birthday cake. It looks like someone dropped off a cookie cake that was decorated with a birthday message just for Derick Dillard. Despite being under the weather, Derick managed to smile for the camera while showing off his cake.
Hopefully, Jill and Derick Dillard will recover quickly and can have a proper birthday party for him soon. Fans are keeping the couple in their thoughts and prayers during this challenging time.
At this point, Jill and Derick haven’t said anything about their sons, Israel and Samuel, having COVID, so we don’t know if they are sick as well.
