The biggest question during Season 16 of Sister Wives revolved around Robyn Brown and her nanny. Christine’s daughter Ysabel was eager to see her siblings from Robyn and Kody. Unfortunately, the rules were so strict, she was told no. However, Christine quickly learned her husband and sister wife had brought in a nanny from the outside. So, what rules did the nanny follow which allowed her in the home but Ysabel was shunned? What does the nanny do? Furthermore, why did Robyn need a nanny when she, Kody, and their three elder kids were constantly around for the two youngest? Time for answers.

Robyn Brown’s History Of Nannies

Being in a plural marriage has its benefits. One of the main advantages is someone is always there to take care of your children when need be. When the series first started in 2010, Meri, Janelle, and Christine all lived under one roof. Janelle openly expressed how much she loved to be out of the home and working. Though she had older children who were willing to help around the home, Christine was the primary homemaker. She was there to cook and school the younger children.

Robyn never got to be a part of that culture since she had yet to marry Kody. She always lived apart from the family so it was an easy transition when they relocated to Las Vegas. Each wife had their own home and space. The kids still bounced around from house to house but the wives had autonomy for the first time. During these years, Robyn welcomed her only two biological children with Kody. She had brought along three kids from a previous marriage but their first son, Solomon joined the family quickly.

Eventually, Ariella was born and this was when a nanny was first spoken of. All the wives had always come to rely on one another so what made Robyn so special? Furthermore, why couldn’t she just use one of the older children for extra help? Instead, she had her niece come to nanny but she did not want to move to Flagstaff so they hired outside help. This was during a pandemic, nonetheless with Kody’s strict rules. Why did she need a nanny? Reddit users have thoughts.

Why Robyn Needs A Nanny

She does not appear to work as My SisterWife’s Closet is now defunct. Her three eldest children are pretty much self-sufficient so why does Robyn Brown need a nanny again? Add to the fact that her sister wife, Meri loves her two youngest children. She would be perfect to help out whenever needed. A Reddit thread was started specifically on this topic and it answers a lot. “Dusting all those knick-knacks she has is a full-time job, y’all,” one jokingly commented.

One Redditer believes it’s due to Robyn getting overwhelmed easily. “During the pandemic, I suspect the nanny was more for tutoring than childcare. Again, I think Robyn gets overwhelmed easily and is not very book smart, so I think homeschooling multiple kids would be stressful.” It was not made clear if the nanny assisted with just Solomon and Ariella or tutored her older kids if need be.

Finally, one person still was not clear so they said this: “I wondered the same thing. She has 2 adults, a 16-year-old and 2 younger ones. They’re not even toddlers…. Sooooooo I have to ask ‘What. Does. The. Nanny. Do?'” In reality, no one will truly ever know why Robyn needed a nanny in a plural family but it is fun to guess. Why do you think she did? Let us know in the comments.
