Reigning DWTS champion Daniella Karagach and the rest of the crew are in the final month of their 2022 tour. They do have a lot on their plates at the moment, but they’re still fully aware of the violence in Ukraine and the Russian invasion.

Since most of the DWTS performers are of Eastern European descent, this is putting them in a really tough spot as they try to find the right words to say. Daniella Karagach was born in New York, but her parents are Moldovan and she does speak fluent Russian. Daniella’s husband and fellow DWTS castmate Pasha Pashkov is also from Russia.

Now, Daniella reveals she’s getting a lot of online hate from people over the entire situation — and she definitely has something to say on the matter.

Daniella Karagach has enough of online haters and trolls regarding the Ukraine crisis

Since Daniella Karagach made her debut as a pro dancer in Season 29, she captured the hearts of many fans and viewers. It was hardly a surprise when she and Iman Shumpert claimed the Mirrorball Trophy in Season 30. But due to her Russian ties, many DWTS viewers want her to speak out on the Ukrainian invasion.

And many aren’t being kind about it.

The 29-year-old dancer recently addressed her critics in a recent Instagram post. The first uploaded photo features many screenshots of horrible comments telling Daniella to back where she came from — which is odd because she was born in New York. Some comments even call her a Russian in a derogatory way and say that she’ll never win another Mirrorball Trophy again.

It appears that Daniella grew fed up with the ignorant comments and chose to address the situation head-on.

Daniella asks for her followers to “spread love not hate” in the middle of a difficult situation

Keep in mind that Daniella Karagach and most of the DWTS pros are on tour right now, which sometimes means they do nine shows a week. They are aware of the crisis in Ukraine, but many are still struggling to find the words. And that’s the situation Daniella seems to be in at the moment.

After posting the screenshot of hateful messages, she drafted a message to her followers.

“To be honest, there are very few times I actually read these kind of trolling comments and pay any attention to them,” the Season 30 champion begins. “Truly, they don’t ever affect me and I don’t ever feel the need to explain myself but, today is different and will hopefully make you understand and think twice before typing…”

“When our family is directly affected by this situation, and our relatives currently being in Ukraine, the last thing on my mind was to go on social media and post about it. Is it wrong for people to post and be vocal about it? NO! But I WILL DECIDE WHEN I POST AND SHARE my feelings on social media.”

Daniella continued to say she would be praying for peace in Ukraine and that the violence would end soon. She signed off with “Spread love not hate” and added some pro-Ukrainian hashtags.

Many of her castmates, friends, and fans left their support in the comments.

What inspired these hurtful messages in the first place?

Many other fans speculated that Val Chmerkovskiy’s recent Instagram posts may have inspired some trolls. Val was born in Ukarine and just watched his brother Maks risk everything to escape from the country. In a nutshell, Val is coming from a place of hurt right now.

But even so, many believe he was directly addressing his DWTS castmates online.

“It’s very revealing … that you aren’t Russian or Ukrainian or Belarusian. You aren’t the mighty Eastern Europeans I always were proud to be identified with because of your principles and work ethic,” Val addressed in his pointed Instagram post. “Your toughness alongside your intellect and price. To all my Russian speaking friends that are quietly continuing to stay in your lane ignoring what’s happening, you aren’t any of the above, you are spineless little b******. And I will remind you of that next time we line up on that dance floor.”

Tensions are running high right now, but we’ll do our best to keep you filled in. Keep following us online for the latest DWTS news.
