Wendy Williams Files ‘Cease & Desist’ Order: At Who?
Wendy Williams is in another legal battle. She just filed a cease and desist order. Who is the daytime talk show host going after now? This comes after the television personality fired both of her managers.
She is not speaking to anyone at this time. Last week, Sherri Shepherd announced that she will take over the show in fall 2022. However, she has no plans to fill Wendy’s shoes. She thinks no one can replace the queen.
As for Wendy, she feels that she’s been replaced. She’s not on speaking terms with any of her team, including the producers of the show. Read on to learn more about her new lawsuit and for more.
Wendy Williams fires cease and desist
According to a new report, Wendy Williams filed a cease and desist order against her former “publicist,” who spoke on her behalf before her talk show was canned. The Sun obtained a copy of the court order from Wendy’s legal team. They fired off a letter to Howard Bragman, who supposedly represented the 57-year-old since September 2021.
This comes after he submitted a statement on behalf of the host following the announcement of The Wendy Williams Show’s cancellation. Her attorney is asking him to retract his statements, which he submitted to multiple media outlets.
“I have been advised by Wendy that she has not authorized your office to make any statements on her behalf and I ask that you immediately retract your statements from all media outlets,” Wendy Williams’ attorney, LaShawn Thomas wrote in the cease and desist letter. “Additionally, Wendy advises that you are not her authorized representative so I ask that you refrain from making any further statements on her behalf.”
Sources told The Sun that Howard has been posing as Wendy’s publicist and crisis manager. He would run to the media outlets to make a statement. However, Wendy has never hired him on her payroll. The two aren’t even on speaking terms, claims her team.
Getting rid of her team
Wendy Williams previously fired Bernie. She’s been busy cleaning house lately. Another insider told The Sun that Howard was hired by the show’s production company, Debmar Mercury. Yet, the company denies that they hired the publicist. That same insider revealed that Bernie was hired in 2019 by her production company.
Yet, another source claims that the confusion is due to the sad situation that’s present in her life. Wendy has good and bad days when she doesn’t recognize her caregivers, friends, or members of her team. She even struggles to remember faces and names. Her son Kevin Jr. has been taking care of his mom with guidance from her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter Sr.
Meanwhile, Wendy Williams continues to struggle with health issues behind closed doors. It’s unclear what’s the source of her issues. In September 2021, she said she was dealing with Graves’ Disease and a breakthrough case of COVID-19. Wendy has not appeared on her show since July 2021.
