Jinger Vuolo Hasn’t Had A Sense Of Smell For 14 Months
Former Counting On star Jinger Vuolo is sharing with fans about the loss of her sense of smell. The Duggar daughter shared this shocking news online and revealed that she hasn’t been able to smell for 14 months now. So, what happened, and what is she doing about it?
Jinger Vuolo lets fans know what’s going on.
On Tuesday, March 1, Jinger hopped on her Instagram stories to talk about what she’s been dealing with. Unfortunately, she got Covid in December of 2020. Since then, she hasn’t been able to smell.
Until now, Jinger hasn’t shared with fans about having Covid. She explains, “I lost my sense of smell after having Covid and it has stayed away. I can only smell a tiny bit of something every once in a while, and usually it stinks and I can smell a tiny bit of coffee, which is amazing.”
The Instagram story caption below says “last December,” but she later clarified that she meant to say December of 2020. So, it’s now been 14 months since the Duggar daughter was able to smell.
On her Instagram stories, Jinger didn’t reveal whether her husband, Jeremy, or her kids, Felicity, 3, and Evangeline, 1, got Covid, too. In December 2020, Evangeline would have been just one month old.
The Duggar daughter is trying to bring back her sense of smell.
Also on her Instagram stories, Jinger Vuolo revealed she’s in the process of trying to get her smell back. She heard that smelling the same scent every day could help bring it back. She explains, “It can retrain your senses and you can actually relearn those smells again and maybe like start to smell.”
So, in the video, she smells a few essential oil vials to demonstrate what she’s been trying. After smelling the thyme oil, she says, “That absolutely reeks right now.” She says she can “barely smell anything” when she sniffs the peppermint oil.
Hopefully, Jinger won’t be without her sense of smell for much longer. She also asked fans what they have tried to help regain their sense of smell after losing it to Covid.
