Cheryl Burke Reflects In A Special Place As Her Divorce Looms
In case you haven’t heard, Dancing With The Stars pro Cheryl Burke is going through a divorce.
She and her husband Matthew Lawrence seemed like a perfectly happy couple. But she filed recently and asked for some space on her official Instagram page.
Now, it seems like she’s doing some more reflecting as she waits for the split to be official.
Cheryl Burke returned to a special place to think and unwind a little
Matthew Lawrence and Cheryl Burke tied in the knot in 2019 after dating on and off for years. In past interviews, she said that it was easy to see that Matthew was different.
We really don’t have many clues about the divorce. News outlets reported Cheryl Burke had filed for divorce and then she released an official statement on Instagram.
“I know I have always said that I’m an open book with you guys, I do strive to be, and in writing this I’ve realized there isn’t really an easy way to announce that my marriage is ending. I hope you can understand that I will not be commenting any further at this time and am asking for understanding and privacy,” the 37-year-old wrote earlier in the week. “Thank you all for all the kind words & support you’ve given me – love you all. xx Cheryl.”
But now, Cheryl Burke seems like she’s embarking on a new adventure to refocus and rethink.
“Taking a few days alone to focus inward, reflect and really try to feel my feelings – with my partner in crime of course ♥️,” the dancer wrote in her latest Instagram post. In the pictures, she revealed she brought her dog Ysa along. She revealed they’re at the venue where she and Matthew Lawrence exchanged vows in 2019.
“I think it’s important to note, that I am so fortunate to be able to pause and take this time for myself. As much as I may be going through personally, it is nothing compared to the suffering in Ukraine right now.”
She went on to provide information on aid for Ukraine.
There aren’t many clues to fill fans in at the moment
Perhaps in time, we might know more about the reasons behind the divorce. But for now, both Cheryl Burke and Matthew Lawrence aren’t saying much. Matthew very seldom posts on social media. Cheryl does post often, but she mostly opts for optimistic, hopeful posts.
In January, she talked about Matthew in interviews and said they were both big animal lovers. However, Matthew is a big reptile collector. She wasn’t a huge fan of that. But she joked about it at the time, so this likely isn’t a driving reason behind the split.
