‘Bachelor’ Clayton Echard Has Epiphany Following Serene Elimination
The Bachelor Clayton Echard is down to his final three women. This week, fans saw Clayton make the hard decision to send Serene home following her hometown date. After sending her home, Clayton says he had an epiphany. What did he realize? Keep reading to find out more.
Bachelor Clayton Echard comes to a huge realization
Entertainment Tonight shared what Clayton Echard had to say about what he realized following Serene’s departure. During their hometown date, Serene told Clayton that she was in love with him. At the rose ceremony, he chose to send her home. When he walked her to the waiting car, Serene asked him if it was because he couldn’t reciprocate her feelings.
It was that moment that changed how Clayton would continue his journey with the remaining three women.
Clayton said, “When she left and she said, ‘Hey, listen, I told you how I was feeling, expressed those feelings of love, was that what sent me home?’ That is when I realized that, because you’re withholding this information, these feelings, these women are going to now start to question if what you have is genuine.” He continued, “That really did not sit right with me.”
Clayton went on to say, “Serene opened up my eyes tremendously, where I realized that I was making a mistake of harboring my emotions.” He continued, “I was withholding them because I was afraid that once I opened up in one area, I would open up in another, and that would lead me to going down that path of falling in love with multiple women. That was scary to me.”
His fear came true
As fans have seen in previews, Clayton does fall in love with multiple women. He admits to being in love with all three of his finalists. “I really was trying to stop myself from getting there because I didn’t feel that it was the right thing to do.” He didn’t think it was right to fall in love with multiple women. He thought that could be a mistake.
However, Serene leaving and voicing her concerns to him made him realize he needed to be open and just allow himself to feel.
As for Serene, she still believes Clayton is a good guy. She is still hoping to find her person. Plus, she admits she would be open to being The Bachelorette should the opportunity present itself.
