‘Love Is Blind’: Deepti Dishes On Her Brave Decision In The Finale

Deepti Vempati of Love Is Blind Season 2 became the breakout star after her brave choice
When Love Is Blind Season 2 began, many viewers didn’t have strong feelings about Deepti Vempati. She seemed nice, but we didn’t get to see much of her as compared to some of the other women.
The Shayne/Natalie/Shaina drama had everyone busy, so viewers didn’t necessarily notice Deepti blossoming before our very eyes.
While in the pods, Deepti developed a connection with Shake Chatterjee — and it was immediately clear no one else would. The women didn’t appreciate how Shake asked leading questions to get them to reveal their weight. Deepti even called him out for the rude questions but ended up falling for him anyway.
When they initially met, it really seemed like they formed a solid connection. But as time went on, the relationship fizzled out. Shake continuously told people that he didn’t think Deepti was attractive. At one point, he even referred to their relationship to being with his aunt.
In the season finale, Deepti happily left Shake at the altar and said that she deserved better. She proudly announced that she was choosing her own happiness and left the wedding. Shake seemed pretty unbothered and kept the party going anyway.
Deepti has some pretty choice words as she moves on from her ex
Now that Deepti has had time to watch Love Is Blind Season 2 and digest everything, she definitely has some comments. The 31-year-old sat down with BuzzFeed to dish on the season.
“Shake and I had conversations about how physical intimacy and that chemistry was lacking between us,” Deepti revealed. “But to watch it back and see how he did it — it was kind of like, ‘Oh, look at me, I’m this cool dude that’s just gonna talk shit about you to my friends.’ You don’t talk about somebody who is your fiancé, let alone a best friend — or even just a real friend — that way.”
She continued to say that the situation was even rough for her family members who welcomed Shake into their home. At the end of the day, Deepti admits she knew by the massage date that she and Shake weren’t going to work out.
“I had the epiphany that like, ‘Why am I trying to prove to this person to see me? I’m done trying, I’m over this. I just need to move forward and figure out what I want — instead of trying to figure out why he doesn’t want me, do I even want him?'”
