Artem Chigvintsev Returns To ‘DWTS’ Tour After Lengthy Health Battle
If you have Dancing With The Stars tour tickets, we have some good news to share. After a lengthy health battle, Season 29 champion Artem Chigvintsev is planning on making his grand return to the stage.
Artem Chigvintsev struggled with pneumonia for the past several weeks
Just after the tour kicked off in January, Artem made a very unfortunate announcement. At the time, he just said needed to leave the tour to focus on his health.
“My time on tour so far has been wonderful – unfortunately I am having to step away from tour for a while, due to some unexpected health issues,” he wrote on Instagram at the time. “My goal is to recover as quickly as possible so I can rejoin my cast and crew on this incredible tour. Thank you for your patience and understanding. See you soon, Artem.”
Later on, he revealed he was struggling with a severe bout of pneumonia. It didn’t look like he was having much fun, but the dancer revealed he was trying another round of antibiotics to get better.
Now, PEOPLE confirms that Artem Chigvintsev will be back on the tour shortly. They also had the chance to speak with his fiancee Nikki Bella about his health.
“He just got word from his doctor yesterday,” Nikki shared. “His scans came back and he’s cleared. His lungs are officially cleared. We’re so happy because his last scan they weren’t seeing a lot of hope. They were talking about him being on an inhaler the rest of his life and all these different things.”
Dancers need to have strong lungs, so it would definitely be upsetting if Artem couldn’t return to the stage. We’re thankful that he’s feeling much better.
The Dancing With The Stars tour continues
Unfortunately, Artem was still sick when we had the chance to see the Dancing With The Stars tour ourselves. But it was still an amazing show and you can catch our review of it here.
The tour will run for about one more month. The show wraps up on March 28 in Modesto, California. We’re not yet sure when exactly Artem will return. If you have tickets for the show soon, just keep an eye on the situation and watch social media for more answers.
It’s definitely good news that Artem feels better, because this means he will likely come back if Dancing With The Stars returns for Season 31. ABC hasn’t renewed the show for another season yet, but that news will probably come soon.
