Did Maurissa Gunn low-key shade Riley’s statement about their shocking split? Get all the details here.

Riley, Maurissa return to social media

Rumors began swirling after the Christmas 2021 holiday that BIP couple Maurissa Gunn and Riley Christian broke up. Gunn fueled speculation by deleting most photos of her fiance from her social media.

Neither Gunn or Christian commented on the rumors until late January. They issued a joint statement simply confirming the split and asking for privacy. They didn’t share details about what went wrong.

Amid the speculation, Christian continued posting gym selfies on his Instagram. He also shared plans to start his own law firm.

Meanwhile, Maurissa Gunn stayed silent on Instagram until shortly before Valentine’s Day 2022. She shared her own gym selfie, letting fans know “I’m back, baby.” The reality star briefly alluded to the split but declined to share details.

A week later, Riley Christian broke his own silence about the split. In a lengthy post, he praised his mother and close friends for helping him through the “difficult” time. As with Maurissa’s post, he didn’t share any details about what led to the split.

Is there more to the split than the public knows?

With so much mystery around the breakup, it’s not surprising that fans are wondering what happened. Several of Gunn’s Bachelor Nation friends have implied on social media that there’s more to the split than the public knows.

Natasha Parker, who was on Season 7 of BIP with the former couple, gave some insight on the Click Bait podcast about the split. She shared that based on her conversations with Gunn, moving from Atlanta to NYC where Riley is based was a big reason for the engagement not working.

However, Demi Burnett then added fuel to the fire by tweeting that the public is “SO WRONG” about what happened between Riley and Maurissa.

Now another BIP alum is speaking out, seemingly in reaction to Christian’s statement about the split.

Deandra Kanu made several comments on Twitter that seemed to shade Riley Christian’s post about his breakup with Maurissa.

In one tweet, Kanu wrote, “It’s not okay by any means to be the catalyst of your own demise and then go onto socials and ask for the publics sympathy. There are always two sides to a story.”

Did Maurissa Gunn co-sign the tweets?

Bachelor Nation fans previously noticed that Gunn ‘liked’ Demi Burnett’s tweet about there being more to the story than anyone knows. Now it seems she’s taking it a step further regarding Kanu’s tweets.

Us Weekly reported that Maurissa Gunn retweeted both of her friend’s tweets shading Riley Christian.

Deandra’s vague tweets didn’t go over well with all of her followers, though. One person replied, “Sis you need to either give the people what they want or stop bread crumbing. Sip or spill sis.”

At this point, neither Maurissa Gunn or Riley Christian has explained what went wrong in their engagement. Could one – or both – end up on Season 8 of Bachelor in Paradise? Stay tuned!
