‘I Am Shauna Rae’ Season 2: Renewed Or Canceled?
The I Am Shauna Rae Season 1 Finale airs tonight and fans want to know if the series will be canceled or renewed by TLC for Season 2. Shauna Rae is the name of the newest personality to be introduced to the TLC universe. Many followers of the network were pleasantly surprised by this series as it felt like the network was getting back to its roots.
Over the past few years, the network has been obsessed with shows focused on the morbidly obese. Shows like 1000-Lb. Sisters, Too Large, My 600-Lb. Life, and 1000-Lb. Best Friends flooded the daily episode line-up. While these types of shows have a massive following, some felt the network was straying too far from being a learning channel with the hyper-focus on the morbidly obese. I am Shauna Rae was the break from these shows that follow overweight individuals that a lot of fans of TLC really needed.
Sadly, I Am Shauna Rae Season 1 was only six episodes long. Tonight the finale airs. The final new episode of the series. Those who have already fallen in love with the show and Shauna agree that six episodes just isn’t enough. Will TLC renew the series for Season 2 or cancel it? Keep reading and we’ll share what we know.
TLC is not a traditional network
As we’ve reported more than a few times, TLC is a pretty untraditional network when it comes to announcing the renewal of new shows. In fact, a large portion of the time the network never actually confirms renewing a series for another season.
Likewise, the network also doesn’t normally confirm canceling a series either. This is with rare exceptions like canceling the Duggar family because of the pressure on the network to do so. Sweet Home Sextuplets, for example, was not really confirmed as canceled by the network. It was the Waldrop parents that broke the news to fans on multiple platforms. The Little Couple, on the other hand, has never formally been canceled by TLC. But, it has also been a while since a new episode of the series popped up.
A large portion of the time, TLC withholds all information. Fans learn a series has been renewed when the network announces the premiere date for the new season. 1000-Lb. Sisters getting renewed for Season 3 was a pretty rare happening for the network. But, Season 2 of the series got such high ratings that the network wasted no time picking them back up. Sadly, fans do not expect the series to return for Season 4 simply because neither Amy nor Tammy seems interested in coming back.
I Am Shauna Rae Season 2: Canceled or Renewed?
With all the information above in mind, there is a chance fans wouldn’t know if I Am Shauna Rae has been renewed or canceled for Season 2. Unfortunately, there haven’t been any reports from the network regarding the series being renewed for Season 2. However, there also haven’t been any reports to suggest the series is being canceled. The future of the series may just come down to whether Shauna Rae and her family have an interest in future seasons.
Speaking to Hollywood Life, Shauna Rae admits her life hasn’t changed that much since being on the show. She’s still focused on trying to get out of her parents’ house. And, she’s trying to grow up more on the inside. As far as dating goes, it doesn’t sound like big things are happening in that area for her right now. Considering the challenges her size poses when it comes to dating, most fans aren’t too surprised to learn this.

I didn’t even now until tonight when I watched this episode it was the last one and was sad to hear this. I really do hope they have more episodes of I am Shauna Rae. I really enjoyed the show.
I love the show and my heart goes out to her for her bravery and letting us into her life. I hope there will be a season 2
I really enjoy the show. Shauna Rae is setting an awsome example to so many people on excepting other people for who they are and NOT what they look like or what disabilities they have. I’m truly hoping for more seasons of the show. Shauna Rae is a beautiful young woman and I pray for all the best for her.
First off, Shauna Rae is a beautiful young lady! She’s strong in ways that I don’t think that she’s even aware. Her story has inspired me, and I’m sure that it has inspired others as well. Her family is extremely supportive, and I can tell that they love her very much, and only want the best for her in life. She is extremely blessed!
I was definitely disappointed to learn that the first season was only six episodes, and, could possibly be the end of the show. I hope that TLC and the entire family is willing to do a second season. I’m a preschool teacher. So every year I see new faces, and most often times when I do see them again they don’t remember me. That hurts. Shauna Rae and her family have become part of my world. Even though the family and I haven’t personally met, it would sadden of me to never see them again. I listen to every word, feel every emotion, and do my best to understand everyone’s part of their family unit. Because let’s get real, this isn’t just another TV show, this is their life!!

At first I was skeptical but as I continued watching the series I became hooked. My son has multiple disabilities seeing how supportive Shauna Rae’s family is really warmed my heart.
I hope TLC brings Shauna Rae back for more seasons!!

I like Shauna Rae and was very surprised to learn that the season was done this week. I love watching the TLC network but the seasons are just to short! They drag you in and get you fully engaged and then poof the season ends. Just like 1000 pound sisters and I am Jazz. Come on TLC let’s see more!
I love the show. It is wonderful how strong she is with all the obsticals she faces that normal size people take for granted. She is an inspiration to everyone with a message that you have to at least try to achieve your goals in life.

I hope they go for another season. Shauna is opening eyes to what it’s like to be her and helping others understand we can’t make assumptions based on what our eyes see. She is so strong, articulate, and a beautiful woman. Please bring us another season.
I love this show. Such a breath of fresh air to watch this show compared to other reality shows. I DVR the show so I won’t miss an episode. Hoping she is back on soon for another series.
Hate to be a Debbie downer, but after the fourth show, I quit watching. The reason is her constantly complaining about people thinking she is 8 years old and people asking for proof of her age. Sorry, but people have jobs they could get fired from if they don’t card people. And it’s not other people’s fault she looks like a child. Maybe she could avoid a lot of problems if she would give people her ID and explain why she is small. She’s always insulted. Got tired of it.
I loved the show and looked forward to Tuesday nights. There really does need to be a second season because it ended with too many unanswered questions. We don’t know anything about her fertility results or her dating the guy with the same dwarfism as her. I just thought even though she did have her moments I thought she was precious and it was nice to see something besides shows about obesity. I’m a hefty woman but to glorify it just turns me off completely. Bring back Shauna Rae she’s definitely a breath of fresh air and people can relate to her.

TLC you left us all wondering what will be of this girl you owe it to us we want to know more of her journey as we are now routing for her!! Too many unanswered questions her fertility, the possible date with a guy who had the same cancer as her, school, car, independence! Come on one or more of you big car dealerships work together and let’s get her a handicap car so she can learn to drive and be independent!! Get to school and live the life she is meant to the one she was saved from as a baby!!! And TLC we want to see this journey!! Bring Back Shauna Rae!!!
I am not a big TLC fan but this show looked good so I gave it a try. And boy am I glad I did. Shauna Rae is an inspiration for everyone. She is beautiful, smart, and has an awesome personality. I am rooting for her to find love and to gain her independence. I hope they renew for many more seasons and I hope they don’t wait too long for a new season.
YES, bring it back. Can’t learn everything in one season. I pray that Shauna doesnt have cancer again. Dont leave us in the dark. So tired of obese shows and their reruns. Loved the Waldrups too, too. The Derico’s are quite too loud for my taste and feel like they are staged.

I love the show and Shauna ! She is such a sweet soul and such a strong individual. I just love her spitfire personality. I love how real her and her family are. They don’t over exaggerate or sugar coat things. Great reality show
I loved Shauna Rae shows. She’s an example of what life is like for little people. It helps regular size people to understand what it’s like and to be respectful of their size.
