‘I Am Shauna Rae’ Gets Real About Sex & Dwarfism

Shauna Rae is the star of the new TLC series, I Am Shauna Rae. The 22-year-old survived brain cancer as a baby, but it also damaged her pituitary gland. As a result, she stopped growing once she reached 3’10”. And unfortunately, many people mistake Shauna for a little girl instead of a grown woman.

Since the show premiered, audience members have had a chance to get to know the I Am Shauna Rae family. And one thing is immediately clear — Shauna does not appreciate being infantilized. She doesn’t shy away from tackling uncomfortable topics like sex and dwarfism. After all, she is an adult.

The I Am Shauna Rae star isn’t afraid to get candid about things that others don’t want to talk about

The Sarah Fraser Show recently had Shauna Rae on as a guest star where they discussed taboo subjects. Shauna believes that it’s important to talk about these things so they become less of a taboo.

“I know sex is a huge topic when it comes to disability and just dwarfism in general, so it is something that is touchy,” Shauna shared. “But it’s something that needs to be talked about. I don’t think sex should be so taboo as it is in our society.”

As the I Am Shauna Rae star said on her show, she doesn’t like to be told that she can’t do something.

“It was confirmation that I can kind of do whatever I want, because growing up I was told that it might not be a possibility. And when I found the boyfriend that I had and we dated for a couple years and it finally happened, it made me feel like a normal woman,” she said about physical intimacy.

Fans sympathize with the TLC store over a recent incident at an adult toy store

During a recent episode of I Am Shauna Rae, the 22-year-old and her 18-year-old sister Rylee went to an adult toy store. Their older sister Tara had a bachelorette party coming up and the girls wanted some fun things to help them celebrate.

However, Shauna quickly grew frustrated when she realized other shoppers complained about her presence to the store clerk. He asked to see her ID and left her alone once he confirmed she was an adult.

Fans felt upset seeing this and agreed that the other shoppers should have left her alone.
