Wendy Williams Does NOT Support Sherri Shepherd’s Takeover

She’s not returning to her eponymous daytime talk show anytime soon. Producers are now angling for a September 2022 return.

However, if that falls through, Sherri could replace her. According to a new report, Wendy is not happy with the idea, even if everyone else is. She doesn’t want anyone else to take over her show. Yet, Wendy may not have any choice since she’s focused on her health right now.

Wendy Williams refuses to give Sherri Shepherd her blessing

An insider told The Sun that Sherri Shepherd “does not have Wendy Williams’ blessing” to take over her talk show. Wendy is feeling “jealous” of Sherri’s success. When she first guest-hosted in November 2021, the talk show had its highest ratings yet. An insider close to The Wendy Williams show said that Wendy is not taking calls from producers right now.

On Tuesday, February 8, TMZ reported that Sherri could take over the reins as the permanent host. Sources told the tabloid that producers are in talks with Sherri to have her take over the popular show. Meanwhile, sources told People that Wendy won’t be returning to the show in the next few months. It was previously reported that she could make a return by February, but that hasn’t happened.

Wendy Williams is not taking calls or answering emails since the announcement was made. This has given producers no other choice than to move forward with their plans with Sherri. Wendy has not offered any input on what she wants to do. She can’t see anyone else replacing her iconic role.

“Sherri does not have Wendy’s blessing and all of this is all being done without her involvement,” an insider told The Sun.

A second source said that Wendy “is extremely jealous and can’t stand people filling in for her as it is.” She’s hurt that more fans are watching Sherri than they were watching her. Production doesn’t want to upset Wendy or her fanbase. So, they’re considering Sherri as a “permanent guest host.”

The Wendy Williams Show could look different these days. It may be headed in a new direction if production has any say in this matter. They’re planning to remove the logos and signs by September or October. Meanwhile, fans of Wendy Williams are holding out hope that she will make her grand return as she always does.

This is the longest that the talk show host hasn’t been in her iconic purple throne. Sherri is trying to win over Wendy’s fans in the coming months with upcoming fan events. She will even interact with them on social media and invite them along this new journey.
