Paramount+ Criminal Minds Revival: Six Cast Members Return

According to Deadline, dealmaking is still in progress. But, six fan-favorite cast members are slated to return for the revival including Joe Mantegna, Kirsten Vangsness, Adam Rodriguez, A.J. Cook, Aisha Tyler, and Paget Brewster. Perhaps the most notable on the list is Kirsten Vangsness. Reprising her role as Technical Analyst / Communications Liaison Penelope Garcia, Kirsten is the only OG cast member that stuck with the series for its entire 15 season run.

Which Cast Members Aren’t Returning?

Perhaps the biggest blow for fans of Criminal Minds is knowing Matthew Gray Gubler will not be returning to reprise his role as Supervisory Special Agent Dr. Spencer Reid. According to Deadline, the actor is ready to move past the character of Dr. Reid and doesn’t wish to return for the revival.

Daniel Henney was also a fan favorite. He was originally a guest star in Season 10 and Season 12. He ended up becoming a regular in Season 13 playing the character Special Operations Agent Matt Simmons. Presently, he has a role in the Amazon series titled The Wheel Of Time that prevents him from reviving his role with Criminal Minds. He, however, is open to a guest star role if his schedule will allow him to do so.
