Will L&O spin-off get a Season 3?

Law & Order is taking over NBC’s Thursday night line-up starting on Thursday, February 24, 2022. Not only will viewers see new episodes of spin-offs SVU and Organized Crime, a reboot of the original will debut.

Camryn Manheim (The Practice) and Odelya Halevi (Good Trouble) headline the reboot.

In 2020, NBC renewed Law & Order: SVU through at least Season 24. Season 23 is currently airing on Thursdays. What about the spin-off featuring Detective Stabler (Christopher Meloni)?

The network has yet to reveal whether Organized Crime will get a Season 3. The show is undergoing some cast changes in the coming months, including Dylan McDermott’s likely exit.

Is Dylan McDermott leaving show after getting new lead role?

In January of 2022, one popular NBC show lost its leading man when Julian McMahon announced he was leaving FBI: Most Wanted.

A few days later, Deadline reported that Dylan McDermott will replace McMahon as the show’s lead. What does that mean for his future with Law & Order: Organized Crime?

As the outlet notes, McDermott is a recurring character in Season 2. As viewers know, his arc is getting closer to an end as Stabler closes in on his enemy.

However, fans shouldn’t despair. The NBC spin-off is adding two familiar faces to the roster to replace McDermott.

Iconic comedian/actor joins Law & Order: Organized Crime

Detective Stabler will soon have help in taking down organized crime in New York City. Another member of the NYPD, Frank Donnelly, will join the quest for law and order.

Comedian and actor Denis Leary (Rescue Me) will play the new NYPD member, though his character’s rank is unclear. In fact, not many details are out surrounding the huge casting coup, as comicbook.com reports.

However, Leary isn’t the only familiar face popping up later in Season 2 of Organized Crime.

The L Word actress previously announced

What a feeling viewers are in for when this actress makes her Law & Order: Organized Crime debut. Jennifer Beals from the iconic 80s flick Flashdance and Showtime’s The L Word is joining the show.

Beals confirmed the news on her Twitter. “So excited to be joining such a great cast and a legacy show!” she exclaimed. NBC has yet to announce her first air date.
