Artem Chigvintsev Gives Fans A Health Update, How Is He Doing?
Several seasoned Dancing With The Stars fans felt heartbroken when Artem Chigvintsev shared some sad news. Recently, he announced he planned to pull out of the 2022 DWTS tour.
At the time he said it was only temporary and he needed to prioritize his health. But a recent update has many people wondering if he will be able to rejoin at all.
Artem Chigvintsev is dealing with some ongoing lung issues
The Season 29 winner may not be on tour right now, but it’s still an excellent show. Be sure to check out our review if you haven’t already. Artem’s partner Kaitlyn Bristowe is still part of the show and does an amazing job.
It’s been about two weeks since Artem pulled out of the tour, but he recently shared a little health update with his fans. According to his location, he’s in the UK right now recovering.
In the video, the 39-year-old dancer reveals he just had another x-ray and the results weren’t awesome. The scans revealed he is still testing positive for pneumonia and he’s on another round of antibiotics. He hopes this time the medicine will help “kick pneumonia out” of his lungs.
Dancing full-out with damaged lungs definitely can’t be easy, so it’s clear why Artem chose to take a step back from the tour. The tour does run until late March, so there’s always time for Artem to heal and get back on the road. However, he may also just choose to stay out permanently for his health.

The dancer previously let fans know about the situation on Instagram
Most fans really didn’t expect Artem to pull out of the tour so unexpectedly. After all, the group had only been on the road for a few weeks when it happened. At first, he didn’t give many details. He just mentioned that it was health-related.
He penned a note to his fans and followers on Instagram letting them know about his departure.
“My time on tour so far has been wonderful – unfortunately I am having to step away from tour for a while, due to some unexpected health issues,” he wrote. “My goal is to recover as quickly as possible so I can rejoin my cast and crew on this incredible tour. Thank you for your patience and understanding. See you soon, Artem.”
While fans felt really sad to hear the news, they were also glad that Artem did the right thing by prioritizing his own health. Hopefully he will be healthy enough to rejoin the tour before it ends in the spring.
