Jessa Seewald Ignores Safety Recall, Flaunts Dangerous Situation
Former Counting On Jessa Seewald was caught using an item that has a safety recall. The mom-to-four put the dangerous situation on display in a new video, revealing that she’s continuing to use the recalled item for her children. So, what is it, and why is it such a big deal?
Jessa Seewald flaunts a recalled baby item in her latest video.
This week, Jessa Seewald shared a new YouTube video, featuring her family’s Christmas festivities. Most of the video is from the Duggar family’s home. There, they celebrated with an ugly Christmas sweater party. At the end of the video, however, she shared a peek into her holiday fun with her four kids.
In the video, her husband, Ben, and their four kids, Spurgeon, Henry, Ivy, and Fern, are all hanging out in the living room. The older three are participating in a little workout together. Meanwhile, Ben sits on the couch with Baby Fern.
However, in front of the couch, there’s a baby item that is recalled for safety risks. It’s the Fisher-Price Rock ‘N Play Sleeper.
In the video, there are no children in the Rock ‘N Play Sleeper. But it’s in the family’s living room. So, this may mean they use it often. There’s a blanket in it, too.
Consumer Product Safety Commission recalls the Rock ‘N Play Sleeper.
While this may look like a normal, harmless baby item, the reality is that it’s not safe. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the product was recalled in 2019. The CPSC states, “Infant fatalities have occurred in Rock ‘n Play Sleepers, after the infants rolled from their back to their stomach or side while unrestrained, or under other circumstances.”
The CPSC goes on to reveal how many children have been harmed when using the Rock ‘N Play. They write, “Since the 2009 product introduction, over 30 infant fatalities have occurred in Rock ‘n Play Sleepers, after the infants rolled over while unrestrained, or under other circumstances.”
The Christmas video isn’t the first time that Jessa has used the Rock ‘N Play Sleeper. In a video she shared in September, Fern is laying in the Sleeper.
It looks like Jessa has used the same Rock ‘N Play since her son, Henry was born in 2017. It can be seen in the background of this photo. So, she likely had the item in her home when it was recalled in 2019.
Hopefully, Jessa Seewald notices the recall and stops using the item for her kids’ safety.
