However, there is some basic information available about the finale episode of Season 2. Currently, we know that Demon Slayer will wrap Season 2 in Japan on Sunday, February 13, 2022.

What is the anime about?

As fans already know, Season 2 of Demon Slayer picks up after the events of “Mugen Train.” At that time, Tanjiro and the crew are trying to pick up the pieces, while training much harder as another Hashira enters the mix.

The new Hashira is Uzui Tengen, the Sound Hashira who claims himself to be a “god.” Meanwhile, he takes the boys to a Red Light District to attempt to find out what happened to Uzui’s three wives. They also want to see what kind of demons are in power there.

Why the longer episode of Demon Slayer Season 2?

Meanwhile, the finale episode is set to air late at night and will be longer than usual. In fact, instead of a half-hour runtime, Season 2 of Demon Slayer will close with a 45-minute finale episode. While fans are happy to watch a longer episode, fans are already speculating about why this is. Meanwhile, there are a couple of theories doing the rounds, one of which relates to Season 3.

Some fans of the manga series believe the longer episode could be used to set up the next season. Let’s face it, it looks like the Upper Rank demons will need to confer on Gyutaro’s actions, as it lines up with the finale. Moreover, fans might get to see the Upper Rank Meeting at last.

However, as per Comicbook, there is a second theory, which would admittedly be less exciting, but is more realistic. This theory claims that the expanded episode could be used to sell more advertising. As we know, Demon Slayer is one of the most popular shows in Japan and will bring in many viewers. Also, those behind the anime would obviously go for more time to make profit selling ads. The same thing happened in Season 1 and could maybe be used again in the second season.
