Jeff Probst has been with Survivor since day one for 22 years now of heading to all corners of the world to see every insane and heartwarming moment. All of these years later, he appears as passionate and excited about the future of the game as ever. In every interview he does, he’s beaming with enthusiasm. Not just for what’s to come on Survivor, but to reminisce on the show’s amazing successes as well.

So what is Jeff’s favorite moment from over 40 seasons of the wildly successful show? It may seem impossible to pick. How does one even begin to narrow down a list of moments that spans a third of his life? Especially when those memorably exciting and viscerally alive moments come multiple times every season. Well, Jeff does have an answer. And it’s a heartwarming one, at that.

His Favorite Moment

In an interview with Entertainment Times, Jeff spoke about his favorite moment from the show’s history. He had more than one. His first was the opening moments of the opening season. Which makes enough sense. Those moments are the reason Survivor still exists and is a global powerhouse of reality television today.

His second moment was the moment Boston Rob proposed to Amber at the All-Stars finale. A heartwarming and fan-adored moment that redeemed a season that is otherwise generally considered to be one of the weaker early seasons.

“I was standing there as he was doing it. Watching the audience cheering, wanting them to be in love. That was the first time I understood they (the audience) are invested in the players.”

Rob and Amber are not the first couple to have gotten together as a result of living on Survivor together. But they are the first to have gotten married and had kids as a result of that first meeting on the show. It’s the type of love story most reality producers of shows like The Bachelor and Love Island dream of. Two strangers becoming joined at the hip and making their way through life together after meeting on a television show. It’s no wonder why it remains in Jeff’s mind as one of the best moments he has ever witnessed in person while filming the lifelong show. It’s a one-in-a-million type moment that’s still ongoing to this day.

Jeff Probst + ‘Survivor’ Forever

After all of this time, Jeff is still as excited about Survivor as the rest of us. Let’s hope to see that passion continue into Season 42. Details are still slim about any variations on Season 42 over the interesting but controversial twists and changes in Season 41. But, regardless, Probst will be bringing the energy he always does. Season 42 is set to premiere on March 9th.
