‘Below Deck’ Fans Say Heather’s Got Nerve Reprimanding Fraser

Below Deck, Bravo, News, Reality TV

Once again, Below Deck newcomer Heather Chase is getting backlash again. This time, it’s for her hair braiding session during the Monday, January 24, episode. The chief stew chastised Fraser Olender while new stewardess Kaylee Milligan braided her hair. For some reason, Heather wanted to get her hair braided. But, she never really said why.

The problem was that Heather and Kaylee were still working their shift. They decided to have a hairstyling and gossip session in the crew mess. The tension on board the My Seanna has already reached an all-time high. Most of the crew members are tired and cranky at this point.

Even Heather admitted that she’s not her usual chipper self. She criticized Fraser for not working, even though he was the only one handling service for all the charter guests. Below Deck fans previously slammed Heather for her micromanaging. They think she does very little work, but a lot of finger-pointing.

Heather Chase has a random hair braiding session

Heather already sparked controversy when she said the n-word earlier this season. On the latest episode of Below Deck, the chief stew managed to irk fans once again. Heather got the cold shoulder from deckhand Rayna Lindsey and chef Rachel Hargrove. So, she needed someone to talk to.

Thankfully, Heather had her friend on board. She hired Kaylee once Jessica Albert quit her job just hours before the next charter. However, Kaylee didn’t arrive until the last charter. Heather needed to talk to her friend. So, she pulled her aside to get her hair braided.

The chief stewardess left Fraser to do all the work on his own. She wanted to spend time with her friend. Fraser kept calm and carried on with service. Yet, it wasn’t enough for Heather. She found an issue with his work and criticized him for it.

Below Deck fans call out Heather’s hypocrisy

During that scene, Fraser entered the crew mess to get something. Meanwhile, Captain Lee Rosbach watched from the stairs. He was already upset with the crew for sitting and eating dinner together while the charter guests needed service. Heather snapped at Fraser for entering the crew mess when he’s supposed to be working. Fraser didn’t have the energy to argue with Heather, so he quietly went back to his work.

Below Deck fans couldn’t believe Heather’s behavior. Most of them took to Twitter to call out her hypocrisy. Some slammed her for getting her hair done in an area where people eat. As Below Deck fans may recall, first officer Eddie Lucas criticized Heather for dipping her fingers into the crew food.

Other fans called out her unprofessionalism and for scolding Fraser. They think she should’ve gone easier on him since he had to do most of the work himself. Heather warned that she was cranky at the beginning of the episode, but this took it to a whole new level.

  • “Heather is insufferable. How do you chastise someone for working whilst getting your hair braided in the middle of your shift?”
  • “No no no Heather… You’re in the wrong here. You were getting your hair done in the crew mess, with another stew. Fraser was actually WORKING.”
  • “Seriously, she’s leaving Fraser on his own so her friend can braid her hair? Heather’s got nerve reprimanding him.”

Will Heather Chase get fired from Below Deck?

Meanwhile, Below Deck fans have been calling for Heather’s firing from the show following the n-word controversy. Even Eddie feels like she should’ve been fired from her job by now. Rayna has teased that the Below Deck Season 9 finale will end abruptly. Apparently, it has to do with the drama between Heather and Rayna.

What are your thoughts on Heather criticizing Fraser while getting her hair done? Do you agree that she was being unprofessional? Do you think she should get fired? Sound off below in the comment section.

The Below Deck Season 9 finale airs Monday, January 31 at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.

  1. The whole “N” word fiasco is made up BS. If you watch the episode, she was repeating song lyrics that Rayna had been singing. She didn’t call anyone that, she didn’t just randomly say it. Don’t use it in songs if only certain people can sing it!
I agree with the hair-braiding criticism. That wasn’t the place to do that and since she was on duty and wanted to get her hair out of the way neatly, do a quick single braid, put it up in a bun, or whatever.
I’ve braided my own hair for YEARS and sure as hell don’t need someone else to do it, and especially wouldn’t do it where people eat!

  2. Am I the only one missing the whole “n” word thing? Heather simply repeated the word right in a sing-song manner right after Rayna did the same thing! Why is Rayna pushing this issue to a place it doesn’t need to be, it only created greater tension and unnecessary drama where there wasn’t any! She even talked it out and forgave Heather, then immediately brought it up again! I do not condone the use of that word in any way, shape, or form, not even in songs, why is Heather being targeted as a racist here?

  3. N *** Word issue, exactly was a song and Rayna is making it an issue to have an issue with Heather, Rayna is an ignorant person, even rolling her eyes at everyone. No respect here for her.

I thought Heather said she was braiding her hair to go to the beach, I understand, won’t be blowing around while serving guests. Fraser was to looking after the guests and Heather said she would grab the crews food, Fraser is a little bit of a B**ch. I know Heather could of handled thing better but I have seen worse,.
