MTV’s ’16 & Pregnant’ Jordan Cashmyer Dead At 26
Sad news for MTV fans as 16 & Pregnant star Jordan Cashmyer is dead. According to TMZ, the reality TV star was just 26 at the time of her death. Unfortunately for those hoping for more details, neither a cause of death or a manner of death has been made public at this time. The medical examiner, however, did confirm to TMZ that the MTV personality is dead.
Jordan Cashmyer Dead: Who Was She?
Jordan Cashmyer and her boyfriend Derek Taylor were featured on MTV’s 16 & Pregnant back in 2014. The young couple faced a rough situation just as Jordan was about to give birth to their daughter Evie.
16 & Pregnant fans will recall Jordan and her boyfriend were homeless as they prepared to welcome their daughter into the world. Unfortunately, Jordan Cashmyer was basically disowned by her family because they didn’t care for her boyfriend and baby daddy Derek.
Life did not get easier for Jordan Cashmyer when the cameras stopped rolling. Eventually, things did not work out for Jordan and her boyfriend Derek. Being homeless and teenagers, they were incapable of providing their daughter Evie with proper care. Despite disowning her, Jordan’s dad and stepmom emerged and shared custody of Evie with Derek for a period of time.
In 2015, Jordan Cashmyer temporarily signed her parental rights of Evie away to Derek’s mother. Signing her parental rights away was never meant to be permanent. But, her life continued to spiral out of control. At the time, she was struggling with a lot of inner demons. Mental health issues, addiction, and suicidal thoughts all plagued the young woman.
In 2017, she embraced a career as a stripper. It wasn’t long after that she had a run-in with the police and got arrested for drugs.
In 2018, Jordan Cashmyer took to Instagram to flaunt her controversial relationship with an older man. She made it clear in the caption of her post she didn’t care what people thought of her and her decisions. She just wanted to be happy. Unsurprisingly, the age gap between her and her boyfriend was not well-received.
MTV Fans Say Goodbye
Unfortunately, MTV fans have not gotten many life updates on Jordan Cashmyer over the years. In fact, August of 2018 was the last time she posted on her Instagram profile. Many worried about how thin she was looking in her photos as of late. Fans of the 26-year-old have rushed to the comments of her last post on Instagram to leave kind messages to her as they hoped she would find peace in the afterlife.
When 16 & Pregnant fans met Jordan Cashmyer she was at a pretty difficult place in her life. Unfortunately, things never really got better for Jordan and she lived a pretty tragic life. Fans that fell in love with this young woman and only wanted the best for her hope she’s finally at peace.
