‘RHOM’: Alexia Echevarria Connects With Ex-Husband Herman’s Lover

Alexia Echevarria from The Real Housewives of Miami admitted that she met with her ex-husband Herman’s former lover. The new season of the show is back from its hiatus on Peacock. The reality talked about her deceased husband, who passed away years ago. At the time, there were rumors that he had a secret lover.

The alleged lover remains anonymous on the Bravo show. Only his abs made an appearance on the series. Most of the screenshots are from his secret social media page, which is blurred out for privacy reasons. Some fans think it’s wrong for Alexia to out Herman or the man in question, but Alexia wanted to know more about him.

Alexia Echevarria and Herman Echevarria’s marriage

The couple was married for ten years. Unfortunately, Herman passed away from a heart attack in 2016. His body was found in a Miami hotel room. The reality star has since moved on and married Todd Nepola. Alexia and Herman were separated at the time of his death. But the rumors about his gay lovers started to surface. Herman denied that he was gay.

There are questions about Herman that only his gay lover could answer. Alexia said that her father was also gay. But he didn’t come out when he was alive. On RHOM, she said that “back then, with Cuban culture, it was not ok to be gay. I can’t imagine the agony that my father had to live with.”

Alexia noticed similarities between Herman and her father. They both lived secret double lives. She was initially attracted to Herman because of the qualities he possessed as a father. After losing both Herman and her mother, she wanted to know the truth. With both her father and Herman gone, Herman’s lover was the only one she could get the answer to her burning questions.

It was suggested that Herman could’ve died while making love to a man. Alexia said, “well, you know what, if that’s the case, that’s the way I wanna die too.” Now, she’s desperate to learn more about Herman’s other life. This could provide her with the closure she’s seeking.

RHOM star reached out to Herman’s ex-lover

Alexia received Herman’s ex-lover’s contact information through a mutual friend. She set up a time to meet with him. Understandably, the man didn’t want to come forward on a reality show. Instead, he called Alexia, and the two ended up talking for four hours.

She spoke to her co-star Marysol Patton about their conversation. While she didn’t share all the details, she revealed that their secret relationship started a year before Alexia and Herman ended their marriage. Herman helped the man bring his parents from Cuba and purchase a home for him. Marysol recalled Herman being a provider for those he loved.

Herman’s lover told Alexia that while he respected her, he could never come out to her. Marysol added, “he was never gonna tell you that because he knew you weren’t gonna put up with that.” Alexia was relieved to know that Herman was happy, even if it was with someone else. Marysol was shocked by Alexia’s positive reaction.
