Mama June Family Tragedy, Doe Doe Shannon Shares Sad News
Mama June and her family are mourning the loss of an extended family member this week. Her sister, Doe Doe Shannon, shared the news with her followers on Instagram Tuesday night. Here’s what we know.

If you aren’t already in the loop, Doe Doe is Mama June’s sister. She has been seen on numerous episodes of Mama June from Not to Hot. In June of last year, Doe Doe won a sizeable jackpot at a casino after the season finale of the show that focuses on her sister. Over the years, she’s established a fan base of her own. Now, most people follow her to stay updated on the extended family, Doe Doe, and her kids.
While Mama June took a little time away from social media, Doe Doe was keeping everyone up to date on what was happening with the family. She became the source for news related to the family that wasn’t shared directly with the media. Usually, she shared product endorsements, family photos, and promotions of events they are attending. On Tuesday night, however, Doe Doe shared some sad news with the people who follow her.
Death In The Family
Yesterday, Doe Doe posted to her Instagram about a death in her immediate family. Her daughter, Amber, and her brother lost their father. Melvin has never appeared on any of the TLC shows. After not hearing from him for several days, Doe Doe’s daughter, along with her uncle and cousin, went to perform a well check on Melvin. Unfortunately, they discovered him lifeless inside. She went on to ask her followers for continued prayers for her children and the rest of the family during this time. It is obvious that Doe Doe is heartbroken for her kids. Thousands of fans and people who enjoy following the family have reached out with their condolences. However, Mama June has not come forward to make a statement about the loss of Melvin. It is safe to assume she will make an effort to be there for her sister and niece during this time of mourning.

In a TikTok comment, June hinted to fans that they could expect to see her on television again sometime in March or April.
