Arie Luyendyk Jr. cancels anniversary trip
Today marks the three-year wedding anniversary for Arie Luyendyk Jr. and his wife Lauren Burnham. They had planned to go on an “epic” anniversary trip. However, plans changed. Arie shared a photo on Instagram of his adorable family announcing plans to cancel their trip.
Arie said, “Not the 3rd anniversary we planned 🙁 Had the most epic trip set for today but Lauren and I are sick and I’m so so bummed. Have to keep smiling though and we’ll get through this!”
Arie did not say what he and Lauren are sick with. However, that didn’t stop fans from immediately assuming it’s COVID-19. Fans can recall that Arie already had COVID once. He had shared it all on social media and documented how he was quarantined away from Lauren and Alessi.
Fans were quick to go to the comment section and tell them they needed to stay away from their children. Arie commented back that since they are both sick it’s not possible because babies want to be held.
Many fans offered support and well wishes instead of criticism on their special day.
Looking back at their relationship
Arie and Lauren got married in Hawaii on January 12, 2019. Although stressful, their wedding was perfect. They both said at times it was so stressful planning it all they almost eloped. They didn’t and everything worked out.
Just a little over four months later the couple welcomed daughter Alessi. Towards the end of 2020 they announced they were pregnant with twins. They welcomed their new son and daughter in the summer of 2021.
During the chaotic time of Lauren being pregnant, they also bought a vacation home in Hawaii. They seem to be splitting their time between Arizona and Hawaii. They traveled in August 2021 as a family of five for the first time to their second home.
In October 2021, Arie proposed again to Lauren giving her a new ring that he paid for instead of The Bachelor. He also noted when he popped the question that this time it was just for them.
Was he planning a vow renewal for their third anniversary? So far no details of the trip Arie had planned have been revealed.
Stay tuned for more updates and happy anniversary to Arie and Lauren.
